The enormous success of that award-winning film built upon the triumphs the studio had enjoyed in previous years with Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.But in retrospect, its status as a disappointment may be more a result of failing to live up to the impossible expectations set by the studio's previous successes and less a testament to poor filmmaking. There are model sheets, photographs of three-dimensional models, rough sketches, fully-colored planning art. This is most noticeable and most troubling in the too-tidy resolution, but despite efforts to the contrary, marks the backdrop on the whole.
