Description

His powerful suction means dirt and stains from hard floors can be tackled with ease, with the brush head designed to pick up all debris it finds. So that he can continue to deliver as a vacuum, Henry has had a number of iterations over the years as Numatic have made tweaks to ensure he remains very good at what he does best.

This review has been compiled after hours of real-world testing and many more with Henry’s predecessor and sibling vacuum cleaners. Of course you’ll realise that the Hoover is in use but its motor’s drone doesn’t drown out all ambient noise, something that noise sensitive people and pets will be thankful for. as real users, posing a threat to a site’s security, so the site sometimes runs random security checks. There is also something really satisfying about the metallic sound that Henry makes when debris travels down its stainless tube set.

A lever at the base of the tool can be flicked with your foot to adjust the position of the brushes at the faceplate; raise the brushes for use on carpets or drop them down for effective cleaning on hard floors. Henry can also carry up two of his own tools thanks to mouldings at the back of the machine and there’s also an area to park the wand should you want to neatly pause your cleaning effort.

Whilst Henry’s main cons are his weight and effectiveness at cleaning stairs, he has many positive features that out-weight the negatives. Part of the reason for this power is that Henry doesn’t have any motorised tools for agitating dirt. It’s completely different to earlier versions of Henry and does feel like an improvement, allowing for an all-round better clean.Dialling down the suction can sometimes be necessary and providing you’re using the stainless tubes it’s something that is easy to do thanks to a bypass valve that drops up to 30% of suction power.

Other than the colour, there is no difference between the vacuums, they offer exactly the same in terms of performance. Thesix litre capacity lets you hoover for longer without having to empty, so you can easily clean your house from top to bottom without interruption. The high option operated at 1200 watts and the low option at 620 watts, meaning you could almost double the suction power when needed.

With a 10 m power cable, you won't be constantly changing plug sockets as you vacuum, taking the hassle out of cleaning and allowing you to finish up sooner. The Henry HVR 1601-11 tool kit is comprehensive and features tools that make more specific cleaning jobs far easier. The previous Henry Hoover wattage at 1200W was above the new limit set in 2017, so Numatic made big changes and reduced the Henry 160 model to 620W, nearly halving Henry’s previous wattage. The Henry HVR 160-11 features an integrated grab handle and a clever wind-up reel to retreive the machine's 10-metre power cable. While this setup works well enough, experience has taught me that the various sections of the pole can become stiff and difficult to pull apart over time.
