About this deal

As the name suggests, this ice cream maker is ideal if you’re a fan of traditional gelato, which is denser than ice cream. The recipe book that comes with the machine has ideas for each setting, and we enjoyed making the frozen yoghurt and a super-simple no-cook Nutella-based pudding that has quickly become a hit.

Many recipes ask you to mix up a custardy batter a couple of hours beforehand, for example, usually on the hob. THE INGREDIENTS YOU CHOOSE - With ChillFactor YOU are in control of what ingredients you use meaning you'll always know exactly what's in your ice cream. For more information on how to care for your Chillfactor Ice Cream Maker and making great ice cream please download our (PDF) Instructions manual.

We do not share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we do not sell your information to others. We added caramel sauce and chocolate chips and the outcome was lovely soft scoop ice cream for dessert! If you’ve already got a KitchenAid, this is a brilliant solution – just check it’s compatible with your particular model, as we weren’t able to use it with our KitchenAid mini. When you’re choosing an ice cream maker, pay close attention to the capacity, which is usually in litres.

We did find this part quite messy, as the opening isn’t huge, but it’s handy for dropping in extra bits and bobs later in the churning process. That means you need to combine your ingredients, pop the ice cream mix in the freezer in one of the supplied tubs, and let it freeze for 24 hours. This ice cream maker from Cuisinart hits the perfect middle ground between basic and blowout, and it really is a great all-rounder. Our ice cream still came out quite soft even on the hardest setting, so it’s worth putting it in the freezer if you prefer a more solid scoop.

This does take some work, and I have no idea how it works, but eventually you’re left with Chill Factore ice cream! The digital display is easy to use – once the machine is assembled and the paddle is running, you just use the arrows to select your churn time, and pour the base mixture in through the gap in the lid. People of all ages that love ice cream and chilled treats, should be able to make their own, using the ingredients they want, when they want. With this type of machine, you’ll need space in your freezer, and you’ll need to prep and chill your ice cream base for several hours before you want to make it. Pop it on while you prep your mix and it’ll take your ice cream less time to churn – just don’t forget to put the lid on while it does this.

Capacity – Ice cream makers are available in a range of sizes, so consider your needs before investing. I surprised Grae with it this morning after our gazillionth camouflaged chameleon hunt, and boy, was she ever happy! Not your typical electrical ice cream maker though, The Chill Factor Ice Cream Maker– So much more quirky and fun than a plug in contraption! Now when we use the bag method, the shaking part gets old really fast, but you really have to shake for a solid 10 minutes before the ice cream is fully frozen, which means I inevitably end up shaking for a good chunk of the time. You first need to chill the squishy cup in the freezer for five to six hours and, once it’s frozen, add ingredients to it and get ready to start squeezing.I’m guessing your oat milk was very low in fat, which is probably why it turned out icy… I think there needs to be at least *some* fat for a creamy texture. Another great feature of this machine is the upright design, which means it has a smaller footprint on the countertop than rectangular machines.
