About this deal

Seiler, Stephen. (2010). What is Best Practice for Training Intensity and Duration Distribution in Endurance Athletes?. International journal of sports physiology and performance. 5. 276-91. 10.1123/ijspp.5.3.276. Almost a perfect fit with a secure yet soft foothold from heel to toes, and more than adequate toebox room-Jeremy/Jeff/Renee Renee is a former U. S. Marine journalist, which is when her enjoyment of running and writing started. She isn’t that awesome of a runner, but she tries really hard. Most of her weekly 50-60 miles take place on rural country roads in Nebraska, meaning mud, gravel, dirt, hills, and the occasional field. She has PR’s of 1:30:59 for the half marathon and 3:26:45 for the marathon The big change in v19 is the upper. The new FormFit mono mesh upper has replaced the double-layered mesh making this shoe lighter, and much more breathable than past versions without losing that luxury Triumph feel. Asics Novablast 2- Not entirely a max cushioned, but still a highly, highly cushioned trainer that does recovery well

The outsole is very resistant with a good amount of XT-900 rubber while remaining flexible and allows for miles of running without early wear on the platform. The grip is also perfect on dry and wet pavements alike. The reviewers who tried the T19 are unanimous on the subject: there’s nothing to complain about this simple and effective outsole. The grip is excellent on its favorite playground, the asphalt, and even wet pavement after a good heavy rain. It also works very well on dry trails or gravel roads.I really like the look of the Triumph 19, the shoe has a classic vibe to it, a very sleek looking running shoe with some eye-catching colors. One gripe, there’s a bit of heel slip thanks to the extremely stiff heel counter. I just don’t love stiff heel counters, but it’s amply padded and although there was some movement it didn’t cause any hot spots or adverse rubbing. Cadillac of running shoes ROBBE: Like I said above, this shoe isn’t going to wow you. Which is fine, but if you’ve been tantalized by some of the Endorphin line, just don’t think you’re getting that same feeling from this PWRRUN+ midsole. It’s a bit soft, which provides that cushion and comfort, but you’re sacrificing pop and performance. There are a few small things that I don’t quite understand about this shoe. For example, I (and it seems like society) would’ve preferred a flared heel counter, which is industry standard now. Also, it just feels like this shoe should have a pull tab. I’m not a tab addict like some runners out there, but it definitely would have a spot on this one.

KYLE: As I alluded to earlier, the cushioning on this model is a double-edge sword. I felt a lot of give in the midsole, which was great for mitigating that initial impact. However, I really missed that pop in the toe-off phase. I can’t describe it any better than that. I felt like my foot was having to work harder to actually push off through all the softness. I feel like there’s a happy medium of cush and responsiveness that the Triumph 19 just doesn’t find. Dr. David Salas is a 135 lb male with notable PRs ranging from 3:54 in the 1500m to 1:08:36 for half marathon. He typically runs 60 to 70 miles per week and trains from about 7:30 recovery runs to fast shorter efforts at 4:30 pace. He normally prefers neutral shoes with a firmer ride, but is completely open to other types of shoes. He is a footwear enthusiast at heart and will always appreciate a high quality shoe when it comes around. For updates on training or testing, IG handle: @docsofrundavidThe midsole is where this shoe shines and, as Kyle mentions, is almost too good to be true. The 32.5-24.5 mm of PWRRUN+ is uber soft, especially in the forefoot. As a forefoot striker, I appreciate the amount of cushion upfront as I often feel left out from the HOKA and big cush party. It’s a smooth ride that almost lulls you to sleep, which makes this a great easy/recovery day shoe. The Triumph 19 is just relaxed, without a care in the world, and that’s how you run in this shoe. That midsole combined with a durable, blown rubber outsole makes this shoe a reliable trainer to turn to when you’re feeling beat up or dealing with injury. The best way to illustrate just how thin and airy the 19’s upper is is with a picture. See how you can see the yellow insole in the 19 in the picture below while you can’t tell that the 18 insole is burgundy? The Triumph line comes with an image of being the kind of comfy limousine in which you just let go and cruise at an easy pace. At least, this is how I imagined the Triumph would run. David: The Saucony Triumph 19 was much more enjoyable for me than the 18. The 19 felt more natural on foot (the 18 was very heavy) thanks to the lighter upper. The midsole and outsole remain the same throughout. The bevel of the heel is done well and the outsole has cutouts in convenient places to make the shoe flexible and rigid in comfortable areas. PWRUN+ still yields a highly protective ride throughout while also providing some responsiveness. The shoe certainly feels better at daily paces though. I've done some harder strides and paces in this shoe and I find it is just a little too much for for those purposes. The outsole is trusty and I have been able to take this in various different terrains. I did find that the midfoot to forefoot transition could come off a little "slappy" and I think some of that might be because of the break of the outsole through the midfoot region of the shoe. Otherwise it is a solid neutral cushioned trainer. That’s all the upper letting light through. And if light is getting through, you can imagine how much air passes through as well.

Jeremy: Marketed as a faster shoe, I think that those two fit the same purpose of long distance responsive comfort. Although the recent Triumph editions were fun and peppier than their listed weight, in today’s running shoe game, less is more. The folks at Saucony answered the call and gave the people what they wanted, a lighter shoe by nearly an ounce. Same plush and energetic PWRRUN+ midsole, but a FormFit mono mesh upper has replaced the double-layered mesh, wrapping the foot in all the right places and making the shoe more breathable. This shoe feels like sitting down in the cabin of a Mercedes. Now, I’ll step out of the way and let the team discuss their likes, dislikes, and usual mayhem on here.In summary, 2021 is a very good vintage for the Saucony Triumph, with a new version rich in improvements. We see little reason to pass upon it, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable premium shoe for your long runs. The semi-gusseted tongue is nicely padded, without excess, and works well. There’s not much to say about it, it gets its job perfectly done. The padding of the tongue works in team with the laces, that are the stretchiest ones I’ve seen! Their rounded profile, their elasticity and the tongue padding result in a pressure free yet very secure foothold, no matter how tight you tie the laces. The shoe’s comfortable, feels light, especially for the amount of protection that I can feel while walking and I must say that I was eager to run with them!
