About this deal

If you are looking for a book with hidden depths, a philosophical discussion on human life and a deeply beautiful message, this is not that book! It was written (and should be read) for pure entertainment. If you allow yourself this little down time and take the story for what it is, you will laugh your ass off.

I wanted to add this as more of a caution for others because truthfully there's a ton of offensive stuff in this book, but the language in particular made me grit my teeth a couple of times. I was still able to enjoy the story, but it's worth mentioning. Believe, the Hardy Boys discover Lovecraftian scary, but the Hardy Boys are young Seeker S. Thompson as well as Johnny Knoxville.Barton, Steve (October 20, 2010). "Don Coscarelli Teasing New Project". DreadCentral . Retrieved January 15, 2011.

He had told me he was a reporter for a national magazine and wanted to do a feature on me and my friend John. It wasn’t the first request like this, but it was the first one I had agreed to. I looked the guy up on the Web, found out he did quirky little human-interest bits, Charles Kuralt stuff. One article about a guy who obsessively collects old light bulbs and paints landscapes on them, another about a lady with six hundred cats, that sort of thing. It’s what polite people have instead of freak shows I guess, stories we can laugh at around the coffee machines in the office break room.A third book in the series was released on October 3, 2017, under the title What the Hell Did I Just Read: A Novel of Cosmic Horror. David Wong is sui generi– and you’ll enjoy his job whether you know what that means or not, which is claiming something in regards to broad appeal. How … Just how can I also explain this publication? Unusual, that’s one word. But there’s even more. One last view one could have on the matter is that, because the story explains time as a nonlinear construct (users of the "soy sauce" drift through time), John might actually be dead at 'the end', wherever or whenever that may be. Bleh. I tried and I tried and I tried to like this disgusting, gory, weird little book, and it just isn't happening. I'm sure there's an audience for this type of book, but it sure as hell ain't me. And, as I've said before, life's too short to be wasted on books I'm not liking. I prefer female characters to have character beyond a name (preferably not a cheesy one-off joke about a celebrity) and a set of legs or boobs or nice ass. Again, this seems to be a rarity in this bipedal culture.
