About this deal

Aspen in its mighty mint green apple opening and lavender heart was such an easy one to enjoy. Not to be outdone the marine coolness and lavender top notes of cool water smelled refreshing as a drink on a hot day.

this managed to evade me somehow all these years. I was curious about it, but never interested enough to buy the bottle. I even bought the intense flanker before it. I also tried the edp version before it as I bought it as a birthday present for my friend. hell, I even tried the Hot Water before it as I bought it to that same friend again, but received couple of free samples with it so I finally got the chance to try it. i'm going to preface this review by saying i am biased - i have strong nostalgic and emotional ties to this cologne. There is no depth, no complexity, no notes, no beauty, no sense of smelling "refreshed". That blast of orgasmic deep and complex scent is completely gone, and confirmed by TWO separate bottles (one 3.4 oz and the other 6.7 oz). I will say this smell is outdated, but I would personally wear it anyways, I honestly enjoyed it, also if you are looking for uniqueness I guess this would be it now because there's not many frags been worn like this from what I experience when I'm out and about.

Update: This smells very unisex to me (which I like) so I let my younger brother have a spritz before a date with his girlfriend, since he really loved the smell on me. Apparently she did too, and wouldn't stop hugging/sniffing him the whole time lol. And this is a girl in her late teens. So to the menfolk our there, don't be afraid to play around, with "women's" perfume. The idea of gendered products is a bit silly anyway. Wear what you like.I just got a bottle that smells like OG cool water and it lasts 6+ hours. Almost afraid to re-apply throughout the day.

That said, I'm not swooning. It's a simple scent which may actually reside best with the bath and body products. Sillage and longevity of the fragrance are very modest, on me at least. I even suspect that the body lotion may have more heft than the fragrance. It should be in EVERY collector's collection simply because it Fathered modern fragrance. It sent a ripple through the fragrance industry for sure. So masculine, so sexy, so ASSERTIVE but so cool. This fragrance smells martian to me. Nowadays fragrances play with mixing masculinity and femininity but Cool Water doesn't play any of the charades. At all lol. One of the most disappointing and tragic moments in a man's life is when his someone special says, "Aaah, Cool Water. Mmmmmm...", as you hold her close, when what you're actually wearing is Green Irish Tweed😩 Well we got home, opened it, and he immediately fell in love. He prefers airy, light scents for me but he needed it to be his, because once we decide whose fragrance it is, the other isn’t allowed to use it as to not ruin the scent for the other one. So once he decided it was his, it was his, and I honestly prefer it that way because I would’ve used this up in a month. I have written a review earlier..,but just want to remind myself, that this is a Calone-Evernyl bomb. Sadly, this perfume as an old school classic had gone through severe reformulations and now this is more of Aftershave Lotion, than a perfume actually. Not in a "bad scent" awful but in the sense that the fragrance dissipates immediately. Like you bought water in a bottle. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. Opening with a refreshing aquatic accord of citrus, honeydew melon, and lotus, the fragrance transitions to a heart of gentle flowers including May Rose, Lily, and Muguet. The base notes of musk, raspberry, and vetiver add a soft and inviting depth. Perfect for summer days at the beach, it's a pioneering and well-liked scent that comes at an affordable price point. I have only got this recently. My first use was, blah, generic scent of ozone or something, you know how generic scents are like a smell of windex or something. But, this scent has an interesting light sort of sweetness of peppermint and lavender in combination. alost like a light scent of bubblegum. There is a somewhat watery scent, perhaps the calone. Anyways, I wore it a few times and found it ok, but then I wore it today and I think I kinda am beginning to like it. It is not a monster, so can be worn without shame or being self conscious. It has a mild scent, but is fairly interesting. I was smelling something very nice after a few hours, like a sandalwood type of light spicy musk or something, and I am not sure if it was me and the fragrance, but I think it might have been. I was a bit enticing. anyways, I have to wear it some more to be sure it was the scent. Its an older scent from the 80's so I kinda also like it just for that reason as well. I do like the peppermint lavender combo, and like I said I think there is a light touch of wood spice and perhaps musk in there as well. It does have a bit of a salty dried ocean water skin scent later on as it has dried down. I will have to keep experimenting with it. Though not a fav scent or one to rave about for me, but I think it;s a good easy reach type scent, and maybe there is more to it. This is a really hard scent to rate. I love having it because I can overspray before working out or just heading out to the store and not worry about running out. It's a nice scent but it's obviously nothing all that unique and the performance is pretty bad.

This 1996 Floral Aquatic scent by Pierre Bourdon has a mood & tone consistent with Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991), or The Blue Lagoon (1980). Although both films were made before this came out, I could imagine the sets smelling of this, and Brooke Shields, Milla Jovovich or their male co-stars wearing this on set. This feels very summery, and smells like a fragrant and expensive high end sunscreen or suntan lotion, and the pool/beach. There's a bit of a salty note in there that really pulls it together in my opinion, but it may just be my chemistry. Pineapple and lotus are very prominent on my skin, and the entire composition just works so well. Classically aquatic; clean and refreshing without being sterile.

There's not much to say that has not been said about this fresh classic, the grandfather of modern aquatic scents, but I feel like Cool Water is more about the green and musky side of freshness rather than watery or airy. I've got a 75 ml bottle from the 2021 batch, so cannot judge about the original 80s-90s batches.
