Got 2 of these, and out of the box they look great. Easily assembled, and the mounts feel sturdy, Displayport Cables included Power consumption is ~37.1W at the monitor’s maximum brightness level. At our calibrated value, this goes down to 20.6W. Button to Pixel Input Lag The screen itself is good, being an IPS panel you're seeing much better colour and while it's not going to blow you away (it is 1080p after all) it definitely does a good job for my text, video and gaming needs. For those squeamish about doing 1080p on 27 inches I'll say that if you sit super close to the screen or you're really squinting you can see pixels but generally at about an arm's length away I'm not seeing any pixels that overcome the added screen real estate. On the more technical features like the 144hz and the freesync I'll say that the monitor doesn't do anything new but that's not a bad thing, read up on the previous XG models and you'll see that the high refresh rate and sync features of the lineup are very solid and I can confirm that it's also G-sync compatible just like previous XG's. Manual Image Adjust is where some gaming related functionalities are located along with some ergo niceties. We have 3 levels of response time options here. Static contrast ratio is also tested. The test here will shows us how the display performs at its maximum contrast level measured in luminance ratio. Higher is better.

Certainly the weak spot of the panel. Screen Uniformity The ViewSonic XG2705-2K renders more than 100% sRGB and around 97% DCI-P3 which is quite impressive for a budget model. Its default accuracy had a deltaE average of 1.67 which is fantastic for a budget model aimed at gaming enthusiasts. The screen looks balanced so most users will be happy with only a few minor changes to it such as its brightness setting.
