About this deal

Shorten, M., & Mientjes, M. I. (2011). The ‘heel impact’force peak during running is neither ‘heel’nor ‘impact’and does not quantify shoe cushioning effects. Footwear Science , 3 (1), 41-58. However, the upper is a disappointment because the other elements of this shoe made the flywire ineffective. Nike Zoom Structure 22 Conclusions I tried out the Nike React Infinity Run on buffed trails too. They performed really well. How well do they perform while running?

Structure Shoes. Nike UK

The Nike Zoom Structure are one of two stability options Nike offers. The other is the Odyssey. While the Odyssey is build for performance stability, the Zoom Structure are build to be a daily trainer. Over time, midsole technologies advanced. Compression-moulded EVA and polyurethane midsole were invented which were a lot more durable. Running shoes became much more stable and the medial sides of the shoes stopped flattening out. React Infinity Run key design features (upper material, midsole, outsole, width, weight, heel-to-toe drop, etc) Recently, Nike has been a running brand which has tried to push the envelope in regards to many aspects of their running shoes, just look at their attempt at the Sub-2 marathon.

Nike Air Zoom Structure 24 Upper Unit

As a stability runner the structure provided by the upper helps hold your foot in place while you stride, and this is important. The Structure 24’s upper is reminiscent of one found on a max-cushioned trainer and is on par with the Vomero 16 in terms of comfort. I feel that the padding is slightly excessive and that a lot of weight could be shed if it was more minimal. I found the Structure 23 to be a really warm shoe. All the padding allows the upper to soak up sweat so on long runs, the shoe gets heavier. It’s definitely more suited to cooler climates. It does however shine on recovery or long runs at relaxed speeds. Slow runs from 15km up to marathon distances are in its wheelhouse.

Nike React Infinity Run Review: A Half Marathon Weapon! Nike React Infinity Run Review: A Half Marathon Weapon!

For this reason I am confused why Nike hasn’t put the same thought and development into this uninspired sole unit. It’s ground that has been trod (literally) before. A lot of runners stay away from “stability” shoes because it usually means firm, heavy and “poking arch” sensation. There’s a good reason that true stability shoes are a dying breed. All the rubber weighs down the shoe but this is one of the most durable outsoles to come out this year and I’ll be really surprised if it doesn’t get to over 1000 kilometres.

Performance: B- ( Firmer ride that feels heavier than the listed weight, ie a bit clunky. Solid bevel and transition, but best for recovery and easy runs. Better for those who land farther forward and does break in with time) Fit: A- (slightly wider fit, particularly in the toebox, but remains secure. Comfortable, well-padded upper ) Previous versions felt as stiff and hard as a plank of wood but the 23 is actually fun to run in even though it is less versatile. Widened forefoot midsole and outsole. This provides extra stability and reduces lateral roll which may cause a rolled ankle. This new shape is very noticeable from above. (the image below shows what I mean) However, the Zoom Structures were average, at best. Yes, I was able to log my miles, but the sole unit was too firm and the upper too washy.
