Thanks to the J-PAC board you won't have to change or modify anything inside your arcade cabinet in case you want to connect a PC to your arcade system inside your cabinet. The J-PAC is compatible with operating systems: Windows, Linux (Raspberry Pi) and MAC OS. PC should pass BIOS keyboard self-test with or without a normal keyboard connected. The unit is capable of being used in a closed arcade cabinet with no additional keyboard or controls and motherboard booting into an emulation menu. If an auxiliary keyboard is connected it can be used fully and even used during gameplay alongside your control panel. When the SYNC OK LED is off, this indicates that no sync signal is being sent to the monitor because it is out of the correct range for the monitor. Multi-mode operation emulates either keyboard/mouse with 56 available keycodes (more than enough for 4 players), or quad gamepad/mouse or quad Xinput controllers.

Usually a 4-player JAMMA cabinet will use a JAMMA connector for players 1 and 2, and video. Players 3 and 4 will be routed through a custom connector. The player 3,4 controls would need to be connected to an I-PAC 2 by manual wiring. The I-PAC needs to be re-programmed using WinIPAC The firmware file is selected from this window and upgrade should proceed. Do not be concerned if the progress bar does not show.NOTE: This encoder does NOT convert your monitor's CGA signal to VGA. You need an ArcadeVGA card so your PC can read the Arcade monitor signal at 15kHz .

Incompatible video can cause all kinds of strange lines, many duplicate pictures across the screen, etc. (don't confuse this with the J-PAC test "scan divide" mode which occurs when the J-PAC is dividing a VGA picture in half to get a stable 15Khz display during boot-up. This is enabled when the 31 and 15 Khz jumpers are both on, and the PC is sending a 31Khz signal). When using WinIPAC, all custom settings for player 1 are automatically mirrored to the player 3 controller and all settings for player 2 are mirrored to player 4. This product is awesome!! If you really want to get the full video potential , don't use the included VGA cable use a high quality one instead! It is usually preferable to remove any low-voltage game board power supply which is fitted inside a JAMMA cabinet, leaving only the monitor powered from AC mains (via the cabinet isolating transformer if fitted).There is a command-line switch /2 which when used causes the board to skip the first board when detecting boards on startup.
