I didn’t hate this book. I didn’t love it. I think it’s interesting but I don’t think I’ll ever read it again, and I’m definitely glad I don’t own it. Kind of slow and repetitive at certain points but 50’s enthusiasm is able to move the narrative along. Now imagine surviving it, going through the therapy to recover, and feeling the intense pain of every wound for an extended period of time. At the end of the day, you can bet on a lot of games, ideas and even people. But the only sure thing you can always count on 100 percent of the time is ‘yourself.’

He’s got good intel and is very suave in his delivery. He’s funny and the stories he tells and the look inside his life he gives you are great. It all boils down to a simple truth: Fear isn’t the problem. Getting comfortable with fear is the problem. While Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter has practical information for any audience, there’s no doubt that fans of 50 Cent himself will get a lot out of this too. The memoir side of the book over delivers.His bully reputation and cutthroat vibe are in great contrast here. He seems to be a businessman first. You learn a bit more on his competitive side and his insecurities, and he does seems to admit his mistakes and reflect on them. I gained a lot of respect for him. If you frequently veer into the stairwell because you see an intimidating boss stepping into the elevator, you’re avoiding fear. Not going to an audition, saying no to an invitation that could help you network, not raising your hand in class when you have the answer – these are all examples of avoiding fear.
