Able to make different playful noises and move its head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth and arms, Cubby is a joyful friend who plays peek-a-boo and even helps children off to sleep with soft music. One month after Cubby was released to stores, a variation was released as Plum, the Curious Panda Cub. Plum has exactly the same features as Cubby, but the fur is designed to look like that of a panda instead of a grizzly bear. The eyes were changed from green with brown eyelids to purple with purple eyelids, both of which accented with glitter, and a tail which resembles that of a real panda bear. This pet also did not come with the same feeding accessory; instead, Plum comes with a "bamboo bottle" and a separate brush. These are separate accessories that do not combine.

It is easy to get Cubby out of the box. Remember you have to provide batteries for him, as you don’t want any disappointed children on Christmas morning. I managed to sort these out and we switched Cubby on. You are advised to have him on a flat surface. He seemed to work ok on our carpet but if you are having any issues, try a table.Cubby isn’t too heavy which is great. You often think these interactive toys will be but children can easily move him around, without the worry of dropping him.

The Cubby the Curious Bear Instructions are easy to follow. The come in picture form and I had no issues. All kids love feeding their toys and FurReal Cubby the Curious Bear is no exception to being able to do this. You can feed him with a bottle (don’t fill this up with water though!) or his treat. You just have to push it into his mouth a little to get him to start making eating sounds. He does sound like he enjoys these! Price-wise, he is competitive with other products that are similar, so I feel this is reasonable. Again, just make sure this is what you little one really wants, as it is a lot to spend. I do feel Cubby will be loved though, possibly due to him being a teddy bear.

What determines a bulky item? This is an item the exceeds a certain size/weight. Normally these are large items that are difficult to post. Curiously, Cubby is the only FurReal pet of recent memory to have an official birthday. According to the included pet-care guide, Cubby was "born" on November 7 - which happens to also be National Hug A Bear Day. Clever. Cubby seems to share numerous qualities with previously released toys in the FurReal line; namely the Luv Cubs, released in 2005, which featured moving arms that allow them to give their owners a "bear hug", as well as a twitching muzzle and ears.
