About this deal

As to Swift the company - I can assure you it would be hard to find a company that supports it's products as well as they do. You will have seen they get involved on this forum and listen to what we have to say. x 12mm x 4m long | 12mm x 15mm x 4m long | 12mm x 19mm x 4m long | 12mm x 25mm x 4m long | 12mm x 30mm x 4m long | 12mm x 35mm 4m long | 12mm x 40mm 4m long | 12mm x 50mm x 4m long | 12mm x 100mm x 4m x 25mm x 3.3m long | 25mm x 30mm x 3.3m long | 25mm x 40mm x 3.3m long | 25mm x 50mm x 3.3m long | 25mm x 100mm x 3.3m long

Particularly suitable for outward opening doors. The RP67 requires an allowance of 50mm overlap each side of the door opening. The Sundance, Bolero & Voyager use the rubber framed windows. The Kontiki & E700 use the aluminium framed windows. Agree with you Mike - they obviously haven't stayed in a caravan when it is way below freezing. Totally pointless having good insulation and having to open windows (however little) and little in icy blasts!! Mind you still can't understand why we DIDN'T have any condensation over Hogmanay when it didn't get above zero all week. Wish I knew. We're off to look at motorhomes in Glasgow this weekend - unfortunately has given the two Swift ones we were looking at (amongst others) a minus point before we start as they have metal framed windows. Could be the first time in over 20 years we will buy a non Swift stable product. Thanks for your comments and whilst talking to your window manufacturers, would you ask about the small slits at the base and if they are there to drain and if yes - where does the water go. They leave hands feeling soft and silky, even after several uses and they have a delicate sweet almond perfume, so there is no lingering latex smell.

Thanks Andy - unfortunately on many occasions when the temperature is low (well below freezing - we were minus 14 at night over New year) the answer is not to open the windows on the night setting, you can imagine I am sure just how cold it is by an open window, not great when it is a large one by the fixed bed!!! Are these windows used in all your motorhomes (we are looking to change to a motorhome and were thinking of the new low profile, 4 belted seats fixed bed versions). We too have metal framed windows in our Sterling and have also suffered at times from very wet frames in the morning - whoever opens the blinds wipes the frames. Opening windows in very cold conditions is definitely not an option especially when one of those windows is a few inches from me when in bed!!!! However, we were away at New Year in similar temperatures to you, in fact I don't think it got above freezing all week, the fire was on blown air 24/7 for the whole week - in the mornings we only had condensation on the window over the sink in the kitchen area, all the others were dry as a bone; why? - I have no idea, we'd obviously got the temperature right somehow. When away in extreme conditions we open the extractor rooflight and run the extractor when cooking and for about 5 minutes after otherwise we don't open the windows - ridiculous to heat the van and then open windows to let in the freezing air. A new generation of kitchen cloths based on microfibre technology, these Spontex cloths cut through grease and grime to leave your dishes gleaming and kitchen surfaces sparkling clean. They're made of a special, hardwearing weave for long-lasting cleaning power, even after machine-washing. The van has been in storage over the winter and when I was getting it ready to take it to the local dealer this morning for the annual service, I noticed two puddles of water on the inside sill of the frame in the rear toilet compartment. The blind on this window has been half open for the past 5 months to allow air to circulate. The other blinds have been open fully all winter.I have been thinking fitting thin strips of foam, (or some thing similar), that would do the job to soak up the moisture.

Condensation With Metal Framed Windows - Swift Group Condensation With Metal Framed Windows - Swift Group

Leaving the windows open on the night catch at minus 11 was the option we decided not to go for ! (Getting old you know) Just been away with our new Elite over the very cold spell - minus 11 one night. We were as snug as a bug with the heating on but next morning the window frames were flooded with condensation ! Although we dont fit these windows types in our caravans now, condensation was not the reason for the change. We did it to rationalise the amounts variants and sizes we use.The toughest scourers for the toughest jobs. These scourers make it easy to remove stubborn burnt-on food and grease. They're made of rust-resistant stainless steel for a longer lasting performance than soap filled pads. I have noticed small slits under the frames that might be there to let the moisture drip away - but where does it go? There are no corresponding slits on the outside of the frames. Last winter I had the same problem with one of the side windows to such an extent that the water was getting into the panel below the the window and there was a high meter reading in one particular small area. I removed the blind cassette and used a fan heater to dry out the area and have kept an eye on it using my own Protometer and the readings are acceptable . I did not have time to take readings this morning under the window in the toilet which is in fact the wood panel. Last year my initial thought was the window seal could be leaking although the condensation issue now seems the most likely. Keep your windows sparkling clean with this handy two-piece microfibre cloth kit. It includes a window cloth that removes dirt and smudges as well as an all-purpose cloth for a smear-free finish.
