The hotel is charming, a place I'd love to stay at with its welcoming and homely feel and beautiful location. Meg goes to France for a while too and I enjoyed her time working in a restaurant there. But what really sold this book to me was the romance, the spark between Meg and Justin, and the way their relationship develops throughout the book made my heart sing. The last few chapters seemed a bit unedited. They chopped around with oddments of text that I think should have gone somewhere else, and they felt a bit rushed. But my biggest bugbear was the number of characters in the story, and particularly when another boatload turned up for the finale/closing image. shopping for their wedding gown and would never want to compromise that by pulling dresses for them that are out of their price range. Our consultant presented you with a plethora of beautiful gowns that were all within your budget, at which time your family pulled the dress in question from a section of the salon that was out of your price range. The consultant had brought to your attention that the gown was over your budget before you tried it on, but regardless your party was eager to see you in this gown. Your consultant left you for a short period of time to try and get a special price on this dress for you because she knew that you had fallen in love with it and wanted to get the price to as close to your budget as possible. Our staff is extremely professional and is concerned about the happiness of the bride first and foremost, not making a sale. We pride ourselves on being able to delivery the best customer service for our brides while they shop for their dream dress, and we certainly never want to jeopardize their bridal experience by pulling dresses that we know are out of their budget. Without a doubt, Meg is definitely the one who was destined for a future in food. Creating beautiful dishes at the cookery school, she also appeared in A Wedding in Provence with a showstopper cake that proved to be far superior to anything that a local pâtissier could produce. Meg falls in love with the hotel, despite the fact it needs some work doing on it, none of the rooms have bathrooms, the decor is dated. But it’s not long before Meg starts having ideas as to what they can do to get more visitors, because close by is a hotel with much more updated facilities. Can they keep the hotel running or will it have to be sold? Then there is Meg and Justin could there be another romance or not? Wedding parties are invited into a world of chiffon, pearls, and lace as they hunt down the perfect dress. Glittering chandeliers light up the salon’s spacious dressing rooms, and clients can twirl in front of glamorous floor-to-ceiling mirrors as they try on different gowns. Although predictable, it is after all a 'feel good' romance novel, it is very well written. I loved the setting in Dorset and when I thought it a tad old-fashioned, I remembered it was set in the 1960s. I thought some of the characters were lovely, such as the elderly and mysterious Ambrosine, and I even enjoyed the stereoptypes too, who I think were written a bit tongue-in-cheek. I have read a couple of Katie Fforde books before and really enjoyed them and this one didn’t disappoint either. A beautiful setting at Nightingale Woods Hotel in Dorset, one of my favourite places. The story is set in the 1960’s and followed Meg’s story.This novel makes you through several love story's and there is some well build friendship circle and her family and that of Justin's family. Some Enchanted Evening" is a show tune from the 1949 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific. It has been described as "the single biggest popular hit to come out of any Rodgers and Hammerstein show." [1] Andrew Lloyd Webber describes it as the "greatest song ever written for a musical". [2] This is 1966 and a pivotal point in history when life is gradually opening up with new opportunities for women. Meg comes across attitudes to her working in a professional kitchen that seem alien to us now. In some ways women’s lives have changed a lot for the better, but then again there is always room for improvement.
