We bought one of the first Zeobia 6 tents. It has proved wonderful & spacious for the 2 of us. It definitely needs 2 people to pitch it. For one person it would be a very long job! When buying 5 – 6 Person Tents, the quality of the product is going to be one of the factors that you really scrutinise before you commit to buying. The Zenobia 6 is a tunnel tent design, making it easy to pitch (see instructions on pitching a tunnel tent).
The porch stood up well to a couple of days persistent rain with no leaks and very little rain getting in under the sides. The wind was gusty at times and this did mean the porch could be noisy at times but at no time did it threaten to take off. If you'd like to treat yourself to a classic cotton canvas tent, the Emperor tent from Hi-Gear could comfortably sleep a large family plus a few friends thrown in too. The guys are really only a stability aid, and an adjuster to help things stand upright and also to stop the tent taking off in the wind. They don't need to be taut like a guitar string. Personally, I adjust them so they are just straight, rather than drooping, but not TIGHT tight. That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Hi-Gear so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Hi-Gear branded products within the 5 – 6 Person Tents category. Once fitted the porch does fit correctly & it fits nice and snug, we used the porch in anger for the first time last week for 7 nights in Cornwall, We had all types of weather strong wind & heavy rain and sun,We used the porch to store all our kit in (table, kitchen unit, bin, festival trolley, footwear etc.) keeping the main living area clutter & mud free.
