What if I forget to take it?
These medicines are reflux suppressants. They work in the same way as Gaviscon, by reducing acid in your stomach and preventing excess acid escaping into your food pipe. They generally work as well as Gaviscon and have similar side effects. However, they may be given in different doses to Gaviscon. If you usually take Gaviscon regularly but forget to take a dose, do not double your dose the next time. Just leave out the missed dose and take your next dose as normal. This medicinal product contains 223.56 mg (9.72 mmol) sodium per 4 tablet dose, equivalent to 11.18 % of the WHO recommended maximum daily intake for sodium.WARNINGS: If symptoms persist after 7 days consult your doctor. High in sodium - see leaflet for further information. Contains calcium. If you have been advised to follow a diet restricted in either of these please consult your doctor before taking this product. Also contains:xylitol, carmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, macrogol 20,000, mannitol (E421), copovidone, acesulfame-K, aspartame (E951), cranberry flavour, raspberry flavour, fantasy fruit flavour, Potassium and carmoisine lake (E122). The flavours contain sucrose. Coloured, opaque, injection-moulded, polypropylene flip-top lid containers containing 8, 10, 12 or 16 tablets. Adults and children over 12 years: when symptoms occur take two to four tablets after meal and at bedtime, up to four times a day. Chew thoroughly before swallowing. It's safe to take paracetamol at the same time as Gaviscon. But do not take other painkillers, like ibuprofen or aspirin, with Gaviscon without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first.
