About this deal

These massive contingents of Chaos Space Marines are tasked with collecting the Key-fragments spread across the galaxy needed by Abaddon and Vashtorr the Arkifane to enact their heinous plans. The fresh conflicts and theatres of war opened up by the Despoiler's actions are unlike anything the armies of the Imperium have yet faced, and they’ll need to adapt rapidly as the galaxy plunges into a new era of darkness. It’s just a little interesting to see who will buy these because players will need to grab the Arks of Omen book as well to use them in that game. Plus, if you already play Space Marines, these are probably units you already have. On the other end of the scale are the Iron Hands, whose March of Iron Strike Force teams up two hulking Redemptor Dreadnoughts with 10 Intercessors, a Primaris Techmarine, and Iron Father Feirros.

You may have noticed that blood is a common theme this week, and that goes double for Wednesday’s Warhammer+ releases. Battle Report tears open the Warcry: Bloodhunt boxed set for an epic clash using the new warbands and Fortification rules, while Citadel Colour Masterclass presents an in-depth tutorial for painting all of the blood effects you’ll need for the incoming World Eaters. Only showing 5x CSMs not 10 on Boarding Patrol photo is strange too, not showing all the minis included! But including a unique character like Abaddon ruins that box IMHO. Launch your own Balefleet in games of Warhammer 40,000 with this boxed set containing 17 plastic Citadel: miniatures, led by a fearsome Daemon Prince. Alongside him are a massive Heldrake, a squad of elite Chaos Space Marine Terminators, and two units of mutated Possessed. This force makes a fantastic core around which to build your Chaos Space Marines army, or a powerful addition to an existing force. There’s still a lot of wiggle room for points there but this is a well rounded list. Still, I think it could use some more tweaks as it does a little bit of everything but maybe not enough of anything in particular to be “meta”— but I leave those lists for Goatboy. For me, this looks like a pretty fun list to play and play against. So…mission accomplished! If you want to muster a fresh army to take advantage of the Arks of Omen Detachment, there are also four new Adeptus Astartes Battleforces* that’ll give you a great starting point – or help you expand on your army with loads of models and Chapter-themed upgrades. That said, I wouldn’t mind taking him for some sort of narrative or special Boarding Action game. Maybe as a “final boss” sort of fight where you play on a double sized map with 1000 points per side? Just tossing that out there… As well as these smaller sets that have been designed for Boarding Actions, there is also a new Chaos Battleforce that has been themed around the new unfolding narrative. Each of these Battleforce sets will give you a strong start to a Space Marines army, tailored to the way you want to play.

The map is a large-scale reproduction of the one found in the book, measuring 596mm x 420mm, and printed on cotton. It comes in a faux-leather wrap to keep it safe and let you roll it out dramatically, like one of Rogal Dorn’s sub-commanders pointing out weak spots in the defences. It’s secured with a leather cord and a metal pendant featuring the sigil of the Titan Legions. Flood the battlefield with Khorne Berzerkers, the raging foot soldiers of the World Eaters legion. This unit of 10 Berzerkers is a close combat powerhouse, the perfect core for any World Eaters army. Jakhals Both of the sets here are designed so they fit into Boarding Actions' 500-point limit and the other army building rules that we looked at last week HERE. That being said, the second of these sets focusing on the Chaos Space Marines offers up a few more than 500 points but that just means you can tweak as you see fit.

Balefleets are the term given to the various fleets used by Chaos forces in the Arks of Omen Campaign. [1] Alongside plenty of new lore advancing the storyline, this book contains further rules for the Boarding Actions, including unique upgrades for Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, World Eaters, Grey Knights, Astra Militarum, and Orks Boarding Patrols. This mischievous pair can play for Badlands Brawl and Underworlds Challenge teams, and will be sure to give your opponents a headache – or a very close haircut, in Nobbla’s case. Personally, if I was committed to using the Balefleet box, I’d go with a Land Raider and more Chaos Terminators. It’s a lot of points but you can really make them the utility unit you’ll need to do stuff. I’d probably still keep the Boarding Action box because I like Abaddon in this list and the extra bodies are good for objective holding. That means I would want to find a way to max out the Chaos Space Marine Legionaries just to have a unit of 10. The List As we said, this has a bit of a random assortment of models, but the value is definitely there! This actually rivals some of the better boxes from Christmas, so if you need all the models inside, this is totally worth grabbing, as you basically get two boxes of Possessed for free! It also contains the new Daemon Prince, which is quite pricey to grab on its own, so that’s very nice.
