About this deal

The story follows Ally (Alcyone), the second sister in her quest of healing after the sudden death of her father, the mysterious billionaire Pa Salt. In this novel, we delve into the past of a blossoming singer, Anna, from pastoral Norway who is recruited to become the ghost voice for the premier production of Grieg's Peer Gynt. Ally is not at Atlantis when Maia learns the news about Pa Salt’s death. Instead, she is enjoying some downtime with Theo, anchored with Neptune in the small bay of Macheres in Greece. Titan, (Pa Salt’s yacht) was moored off the coast of the nearby Delos. When Ally tried radioing Titan, she did not get an answer. When she came closer with Theo’s boat – the Titan sped away.

I have been absolutely spellbound by each of these books and Storm of Sisters was no exception. For me the magic lies in the wonderful characters - teenage Felicity who is in love with love; Betty who always manages to find adventure and Charlie who won’t go anywhere without her rat and Granny. It lies in the incredible settings with their amazing names - ‘Dead Man’s Curve’, ‘Wilderness’, and ‘Elora’s Tears’. It lies in the amazing descriptions of icy scenery. And it lies in the wonder of the story. This has magic; a costume ball; a missing girl; a frozen lake; ghostly goings on… So Alcyone (Ali), the "Sister of the Wind", from childhood had a penchant for music lessons and excellent musical abilities, but no less loved to sail. When the Widdershin sisters go with their granny to help cousin, Clarissa, in the cold place of Wilderness, little did they think they'd get anything other than a spot of sightseeing and a few chores to do. Oh my, how wrong they were. Skating on thin ice is just the start, with haunted rooms, a lost treasure and crystal ball with a mind not to be found. Oh and there is far more going on than just that. There, Ally begins to discover her roots - and how her story is inextricably bound to that of a young unknown singer, Anna Landvik, who lived there over 100 years before, and sang in the first performance of Grieg's iconic music set to Ibsen's play 'Peer Gynt'. As Ally learns more about Anna, she also begins to question who her father, Pa Salt, really was. And why is the seventh sister missing? To start with, some mythological and linguistic fun. Author Lucinda Riley sprinkles myths and anagrams like cornflakes indeed, and those contain a fair deal of hints about the overall story. There are secrets hidden beneath the ice . . . bring the magic home in the frosty fourth instalment of the bestselling Pinch of Magic Adventures, from the award-winning Michelle Harrison.

Had a day off to celebrate Christmas with Mr Tanit, which we believe is Pa Salt. He worked in the garden and built a rose arbour just like the one Pa Salt has in his secret garden at Atlantis. A fantastic ghostly tale of the echoes of love and highway robbery set in a snow-covered Wilderness and dark icy corridors haunted by the past. Was this whilst studying in Paris? Where she met Bo/Pa Salt? We know from the cover of Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt, that the boy we believe is Pa Salt falls in love in Paris and that he is taking classes at the prestigious Conservatoire de Paris. I am sure this includes Elle. Auch Norwegen wurde einem hier so schön beschrieben wie Brasilien im ersten Teil. Dieses Buch spielt dabei sogar auf 3 Zeitebenen und nicht nur auf 2 ⏳ Her parents were killed in the Great War (or WW1), meaning she was born somewhere before 1919 when it ended. We do not know her exact birth date or year.Over to the British countryside and Star’s assumed great-grandmother Flora, who lived on the High Weald estate alongside her husband and children during the second World War. Also in residence: Mr. and Mrs. Tanit, tending the garden and manning the kitchen. The man is taciturn, tender and knows his way around roses -just like Pa Salt! Besides their domestic prowess, nothing noteworthy is said about them. They make for good candidates for Bo and Elle though, as their surname is an anagram for “titan”. The couple may have come all the way to England after setting foot in Scotland in 1940. Also, he is said to have “haunted eyes”, a trait mentioned for different seemingly uninteresting strangers in the other books. Haunted eyes, as if he’s fleeing something or someone – Kreeg Eszu maybe? The Tanits disappear after having driven Star”s grandmother Tessie to the station in 1944. Gutsy and rude, full of warts-and-all family love, Harrison’s latest has the wry enchantment of an E Nesbit classic’ Guardian

Erik Edvardson at the Ibsen Museum was my first port of call. It was he who told me that Ibsen had asked Grieg to write the incidental music for his poem and showed me the original photographs from the production of Peer Gynt. Then he told me about Solveig’s ‘ghost voice’, whose real identity is still unknown to this day. This gave me the key to the ‘past’ story. The whole historical perspective of Norwegian life in the 1870s came from Lars Roede at the Oslo Museum.

The spellbinding series continues in the icy beauty of Norway. Following the bestselling The Seven Sisters, The Storm Sister is the second book in Lucinda Riley's epic saga of love and loss, inspired by the mythology of the Seven Sisters constellation. In The Storm Sister is it Ally D'Aplièse turn to find her roots. Her father's death hits her hard, and soon she faces another devastating blow when someone close to her drowns. Ally, who always loved to sail, feel that she can't return to the sea and it is now the clue that her father gave her to come into the picture. The clue takes her to Norway and to the story of Anna Landvik, a talented singer who lived one hundred years ago. If Elle is the love of Pa Salt life, and the woman in the drawing that hung in Pa Salt’s bedroom + the one Georg shows Merry which looks exactly like her, then Elle is Merry’s biological mother. having too much of anything can be almost as difficult as having too little” 1875 – 1884, Norway and Germany: Anna Landvik, Jens Halvorsen and Edvard Grieg

A final little adjustment to the whole theory: it could also be that Elle/Mrs. Tanit has only been posing as Pa’s lover this entire time, while being his sister in truth. It is said Elle and her brother were separated in Paris when they were kids, which makes this theory plausible. Also, it would give free way to the Elle + Kreeg Eszu theory, making him the father of her mysterious lost child. When the Widdershins sisters and Granny are called away in deepest winter to look after cousin Clarissa, it doesn’t take long for adventure – or trouble – to find them. The town of Wilderness has plenty to explore with its frozen lake and winter market, as well as being haunted by a doomed highwayman and his secret love. But the legends are true and seeing a ghostly figure one night, the girls realise that Granny is in terrible danger. As an icy storm rages, the race to save her begins – can the sisters lay Wilderness's ghosts to rest before another soul is claimed? If Bo is Pa Salt, this would make him about 17 years of age when he was a second year music student. Does this fit with his timeline? How long had he been in Germany?
