Initially we only connected the two side guylines, and even with just the two pegged out, the tent seemed very stable, we couldn't imagine the tent going anywhere very fast if you pegged out all six guylines and 16 tent pegs! The two air vents on the side of the flysheet are both held open by the side guylines. We played about a little with this until we realised that you can close up the vent by simply running the guyline attached to the top of the vent through the loop on the lower vent material (see third photo below). After each trip, clean your tent by gently shaking out any dirt or debris and wiping down the interior and exterior with a damp cloth. Avoid using detergents or harsh cleaning products, as these can damage the tent fabric. As expected the second time we erected the PYRAMID (and with our walking poles set at exactly 120cm) it went up far easier and far faster. It rained lightly one night, but nothing that really put the tent to a test. It did get a bit blowy one night and with all guylines staked out, the tent was fine. And it is worth mentioning, with our walking poles now set to the correct length, the flysheet on the PYRAMID now pegged tight onto the ground. This meant that although the inner tent is all mesh, the blowing wind outside struggled to get in. By contrast, the flysheet of our Glencoe 1/TOPWIND 1 pegs slightly off the ground, allowing more potential air flow, but of course this then is somewhat offset by the full polyester inner tent. And of course both tents have flysheet vents to help regulate airflow depending on conditions. The PYRAMID tent has quite large vents mid-way up the two sides which you can open or close up depending upon how much ventilation you require. Besides being lighter in weight, DCF shelters are usually seam-taped, so you don’t have to seam-seal them. The material also does not stretch when it gets wet by rain or morning dew. Both materials are likely to have a similar lifespan, although many people prefer using Silnylon over DCF in winter because snow slides off its surface more easily. Summary

Conclusion
Compatible with the DD SuperLight - XL - Pyramid Mesh Tent (2-person inner) or the DD SuperLight - Solo Mesh Tent (1 person inner) A square pyramid tent may be an inefficient design for one person because a sleeping mat length is rather wasted on the width of a tent for one. However, I seldom go adventuring alone. I like the fun and safety of the company of others and this leads to tent, stove, meal sharing and the list goes on. So pyramids come into their own by saving weight when travelling light on skis or walking boots with friends by sharing an already light tent (450g/person for two or 300g/person for three). Exceptional refinement in design, semi-freestanding design makes staking out easy, ability to set up without rain fly Polyester. Recently, I have successfully experimented with a breathing polyester tent design. This breathing tent made from cheap umbrella fabric is very rainproof and comfortable. It greatly reduces the condensation, speeds drying and eliminates the wet stretching issues that are associated with the silnylon fabric that I have used for many years.

They offer a lot of interior space and are often used for family camping. However, they are heavier and more complex to set up than pyramid tents. Pyramid tents and tarps are prone to internal condensation just like any other single or double-walled tent and shelter. The best way to reduce or eliminate any internal condensation is to maintain as much airflow as possible. While many pyramid shelters have a vent in the peak, this isn’t usually sufficient by itself to vent moisture build-up. While sleeping with the front door rolled open in fair weather can be quite helpful, the best way to ensure good airflow is to maintain a wide air gap between the bottom edge of the tarp and the ground so breezes can pass through the tent. Lengthen the center pole a few inches to raise the peak, and stake out the base as normal. The least amount of overhead clearance is at the head and foot ends under the slanted walls.
