Features

The fi-7160 comes equipped with a centralised administration feature that system administrators can use to manage the installation and operation of multiple image scanners and network scanners from one location. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is included in the operator panel to display useful information including current settings for scanning documents, the number of sheets scanned, and error status. Users know the scanner status in the blink of an eye and can easily select and initiate predefined scanning profiles. The fi-8170 protects documents from damage using innovative new technology. Patentedǂ Image Monitoring identifies overly skewed documents in real time and halts the scanning process before they can be damaged. ISoP will do the same if it detects any abnormal feed sounds, while Lag detection ensures documents are feeding through at the expected speed.

During testing, we were impressed with PaperStream Capture and didn't have to wait long for our batch scans either. Duplex scans of 50 bank statements returned 62ppm for colour and greyscale at 200dpi and 300dpi with speed dropping to 12ppm at 600dpi.
