These cauliflower chips are very similar to parmesan crisps, but they are made with both cauliflower and parmesan. They have a similar light, delicate and crispy texture. You can use these for dipping, but they may break. I prefer to eat them as is and flavor them with different seasonings. You can steam cauliflower until it is tender in your Instant Pot pressure cooker in just five minutes. Steamed cauliflower can then be mashed instead of needing rice. The breading makes this the best cauliflower recipe ever and oven baking it allows it to be crispy to perfection. You do NOT need to pan-fry it to create that fried taste.

For this recipe, I use fresh cauliflower, which I processed through a food processor until finely riced. I have not tried the recipe with frozen cauliflower. It may work but you would really need to make sure all the moisture is removed since frozen cauliflower contains more moisture than fresh cauliflower. Make sure you have some parchment paper, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and cooking spray. The natural sugar content in most cauliflower recipes is very low so it won’t spike blood sugar levels which is great for people on a low-carb diet. Spreading the batter into thin chips is the most laborious task of today’s recipe. That being said, it would be nice (and a lot faster, too) to make them with friends and family. Once you have prepared your panko breadcrumbs and your wet breading, dump all of your cut cauliflower florets into the huge bowl.

The best thing to use when you need to squeeze the liquid from cauliflower is cheese cloth. I like to fold cheese cloth in two (sometimes even more) to make finer mesh. What if I don’t have a cheese cloth? Essentially, you can just use a food processor to blend then scoop the mixture into the air fryer until it’s golden brown. What you are looking for is fine mesh to squeeze out the liquid without squeezing part of cauliflower through the holes. There were a few times when I ran out of cheese cloth, then I used clean veggie saving bags. They are made from fine mash material and worked perfectly. So look around your kitchen, you might just have something you can use. Make sure it’s clean and it’s fine mesh material. In addition to cauliflower nacho chips, you can also make delicious crisps that are made with parmesan cheese, salt, and other spices.

Cauliflower makes for a great blank canvas, so you add any type of seasoning you like to these. Try them with chipotle powder, paprika, or any other spice you love. This recipe calls for baking the “chips” on a large baking sheet covered with parchment paper. However, there are other ways to actually cook this recipe than in the oven. You can also reheat them in a dry cooking pan, on stove-top. Preheat a cooking pan over medium-high heat and re-heat the cauliflower crisps for about a minute on each side. The best part about frozen cauliflower is that it doesn’t require much preparation. The only thing you need to do before cooking is to let it thaw completely. For today’s recipe, we’re going to keep it simple and serve the chips with ketchup. This sweet-and-sour sauce is the ultimate crowd-pleasing condiment that can go well with any food.
