About this deal

This was physically harder work than I was expecting. Brushing the carpets did manage to lift stubborn dog hair, but by the time I'd vigorously brushed and scrubbed a couple of large rooms on a hot summer's day, I was pretty drenched. Handle: You’ll want the handle to be sturdy enough to stand up to repeated use, and you may want to look for one with abuilt-in hook for storage. A standard broom has the typical tightly gathered thin soft bristles that are great for gathering not only hair but dirt, tiny dust, and debris as well. They're easily the most common of the four designs and are probably the cheapest option. If you have a dog with shirt wiry fur, that is less likely to drop large amounts of dog hair throughout your house, then you will likely find that a standard broom design would suffice. It is capable of cleaning dog hair, and general dirt or debris from hardwood floors just as efficiently as a vacuum cleaner. Light shedding dogs are much easier to clean up after, and you're unlikely to require a specialist broom for such a small amount (unless, of course, you choose to). Well, as long as your carpet is low-pile (short). When I tested this broom on my long, shaggy rug, no dog hair was removed – even though I could see it. The broom only brushed the top, and the bristles seemed unable to remove anything that was trapped deep inside the shag.

If you have a hard floor, be it vinyl, wood, stone, concrete then you simply must give this broom a go. It has been a total revelation in our home. Please allow me to introduce you to this seemingly innocuous-looking rubber broom from the aptly named Dustpan and Brush Store. Built with your convenience in mind, it has an adjustable handle, so you’re sure to stay comfortable during use, rather than having to stoop over. There’s even a circular end for easy hanging and storage, as well as a jointed handle for getting underneath beds, sofas, and other stationary furniture. 2. Evriholder FURemover Pet Hair Broom If you’re sweeping carpets with a rake broom, you’ll probably need to go over them with a vacuum cleaner to remove all the hair you’ve raked up. And while even the best brooms for dog hair might do a great job of getting rid of the fluff, they can’t do anything about any lingering doggy odors. Adding a pet odor eliminator into your cleaning routine is a great way to make sure your house is not only a fur-free zone, but also smells fresh too. Spotting a neat, new clump of dog hair on the hard, kitchen floor I reached for the nearest broom, which just happened to be this one. The one intended for use on our carpets.YANXUS Broom & Dustpan [Best Broom & Dustpan Combo for Dog Hair]: Need a complete brush-and-dustpan solution for your dog’s hair? This model will fit the bill perfectly, and it features rubber “teeth” to make subsequent hair removal easy. While the rubber bristles were great for hard floors and rugs, it took some time to clean larger sections of carpet. If you need the extra length, the adjustable handle extends up to 50 inches to fit even the tallest pet owners. Simply rinse, sanitize, and dry after every use to ensure your bristles stay in the best shape possible. 4. LandHope Push Broom

It’s essential to have a broom or two as a pet parent, but not all brooms are well-suited for attracting dog hair. Hopefully, this guide will match you with the perfect mutt mess magnet! Like my former neighbor. She slept with three fully grown Alaskan Malamutes. You had better bet that her king-sized bed was always covered in dog hair. Didn’t bother her in the slightest. But then, she hated chores too. Before, I used to pull out my old clunker of a vacuum, attach the “dog hair” attachment, and listen to its obnoxiously loud hum as it worked overtime to clean a small area of hair. Combine this with my dog trying to play with the vacuum every time it comes out and this chore soon gets old – especially when vacuuming daily to keep up with your molting pup. When you’re trying to clean, pet hair is one of the worst things you can find. It can feel like a never-ending nightmare to clean up.

There are a variety of handles to choose from. From telescopic poles that halve in size to rigid 59-inch poles. I highly recommend choosing a rigid handle – the telescopic one had a habit of loosening and collapsing when in use. Couch covers won’t stop your canine companion from shedding, but they may make it easier for you to clean off your couch when it’s covered in fur. Most covers are machine-washable, though you could also use a large blanket or two in a pinch. 3. Use gates to keep your dog sequestered in easily-cleaned rooms.
