About this deal

Contrary to reports, the giant floating restaurant that became an iconic destination in Aberdeen Harbor was not the Jumbo, but the Tai Pak Floating Restaurant, which dominated the scene for decades, from the 1940s. It’s a fascinating though tragic tale.

The Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group first initiated the legal process, and it finally got a result on May 12, 2012. I’m sure many youths, like myself, have an aversion to drinks like these especially as it has “herbal” in its name. It must stem from the trauma of years of visiting Chinese doctors and drinking their “herbal” medicine which tastes more bitter than anything else in the world. There’s just a bad misconception to herbal tea, especially if it’s from China – it must be bitter, right? Wong Lo Kat" is the Cantonese transliteration of its name in Chinese characters. Wong Lo Kat originated in 1828 during the Qing Dynasty in Guangdong (Kwangtung) and Guangxi (Kwangsi) provinces of China, founded by a doctor Wong Chat Bong ( simplified Chinese: 王泽邦; traditional Chinese: 王澤邦; pinyin: Wáng Zébāng). Because the Wong family was the inventor of herbal tea brewing in southern China, the brand is synonymous with this type of drink. The recipe has been passed down through multiple generations to today's tea culture. [1]For the sake of this lawsuit, the two parties exposed each other's secrets, accusing each other of formula problems and discomfort caused by the ingredients of Chinese medicine. With the philosophy of “helping the world” advocated by Chenliji 400 years ago, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical remains at the forefront of TCM development and introduces a popular version of TCM to the world, through the very same window where Western medicine first entered China. These companies have relatively strong market share and competitiveness, and the domestic herbal tea beverage market needs to continue to develop.

By 1952, the Tai Pak, king of the floating restaurants, was 32 meters long, about the length of two buses. Business was brisk and Wong expanded it in 1960 to become a major dining place in Hong Kong, able to accommodate 800 diners at once. You could have your wedding dinner there. Unexpectedly, Hongdao Group raised other people's children, and eventually they would be forced to send them out. The trademark proprietor opposed this and relied on extensive evidence of use. There was no bad faith, as it had genuinely used the earlier EU trademark and the contested EU trademark had already been applied for before the expiry of the grace period for use of the earlier identical EU trademark. The extensive use of the earlier trademark showed that it did not need to file a repeat application in bad faith.Wong Lo Kat is a famous Chinese herbal tea, created by Wang Zebang during the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the “King of Herbal Tea”. The product has gone through various forms, from water bowl herbal tea to tea bags, herbal tea powder, and herbal tea beverages.

Beginning in 2009, there were different voices within the two major groups regarding the use of the Wanglaoji trademark. The trademark proprietor unsuccessfully appealed against the decision of the Cancellation Division granting the application for invalidity. After a pause in the proceedings due to the pending proceedings before the EUGC in the "MONOPOLY" case ( judgment of 21.4.2021 - T-663/19, discussed on Engage), the Board of Appeal now ruled in favour of the invalidity applicant. The concept of bad faith had to be interpreted on the basis of the criteria of the individual case, taking into account a general public understanding of the term and the objectives of the EU Trademark Regulation. The "MONOPOLY" decision had provided a precise explanation of the concept. The German Federal Patent Court (BPatG) dealt with the exploitation of the reputation of the trademark "ROLEX" by the application for the sign "ROLESS FURNISHING" for goods in Classes 2, 19 and 20, including paints, metal foils for painters, statues and busts made of stone, concrete or marble, office furniture and wardrobes. The German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) had previously partially upheld the opposition on the grounds that some of the goods claimed by the application mark could constitute works of fine art, which, like luxury watches, could be treated as investments, status symbols or collectors' items. However, this assumption would not apply to all the goods covered by the mark applied for. With Coca-Cola or any other brand, it's the product that is at the heart of the brand and brands should play around their product. In May, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission ruled that Hung To should cease use of the Wong Lo Kat brand and Guangzhou Pharma could assume all rights to the trademark.which retains loyalty to a certain extent The old customer base is the most direct connection point between products and consumers. The dispute between Jiaduobao and Wanglaoji made them miss a golden age, and the herbal tea market has no winners. Although the arbitration ruling in May went in favor of Guangzhou Pharma, the case has produced some interesting repercussions. The audience remembered not only the voices of each student and the stories behind them, but also Jiaduobao herbal tea.

Nobody denies that JDB was highly successful in expanding the brand. With its strong sales network and smart marketing strategies, Wong Lo Kat has become popular.I used to believe in the power of brand names. I used to think that time-honored brands would automatically enjoy a special place in the market. In stepped Stanley Ho Hung-sun, a man from Macau who had made a fortune running a casino business. He bought up the project and assigned workers to build something really spectacular, which would look like a floating palace for a Ming Dynasty Emperor. This would take five years to build, and was set for a 1976 opening date. It would eventually even have a throne for an emperor.
