About this deal

The Inbetweeners Movie gets even better on Blu-ray". Blu-ray Disc Reporter. 27 October 2011. Archived from the original on 26 April 2012 . Retrieved 20 January 2014. How does the show depict drinking? Do you think it's realistic? What consequences to the characters face? The Mrs Brown's Boys d'bacle has set a low bar for this season's TV-to-film cash-ins. The follow-up to 2011's improbably profitable feature-length special clears it with distance to spare – though its ultimate success may depend on how much of an achievement the individual viewer takes that to be. Having got away with the timeworn "go overseas" gambit once, creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley – who have taken on joint directing duties here – now may be tempting fate in dispatching their sniggering teenage principals further afield, to Australia: you might well guess the phrases "Down Under" and "bush" will be flogged for all they're worth. The first episode of series two, which aired on E4 at 10 pm ( BST) 2 April 2009, averaged 958,000 viewers, [28] with another 234,000 viewers watching at 11 pm on the time-shift channel E4 +1 meaning it was watched by 1.2 million, the highest audience of 2009 for E4. The issues

Dean, Will (8 May 2008). "Sitcom surbubia with spots". The Guardian. London . Retrieved 22 March 2009. The best British show of all time. The most relatable, funny and realistic show ever. The pals all feel real and the dialogue is vulgar but true, I laugh at every joke even after hearing it millions of time. The characters all seem like people very British person knows. However emphasis on *BRITISH*. Very sexual and explicit dialogue. Harp, Justin (11 June 2020). "Channel 4 denies The Inbetweeners' YouTube channel was taken down over causing "offence" ". Digital Spy . Retrieved 14 June 2020. The Inbetweeners set to return for third series". CoventryTelegraph.net. 2 September 2010. Archived from the original on 23 July 2011 . Retrieved 5 September 2010.

West, Dave (5 June 2008). "E4 takes second series of 'Inbetweeners' ". Digital Spy . Retrieved 22 March 2009. On 1 January 2019, Channel 4 broadcast a 10th anniversary special entitled 'Fwends Reunited', hosted by Jimmy Carr. The four lead actors were present alongside supporting cast members; the title is a reference to a joke within the episode Will Gets a Girlfriend. All classification decisions are based on the BBFC’s published and regularly updated Guidelines. "Meet the "lost" Inbetweener: how Darcy Thomas landed the part of "the original Jay" and what he's up to now". Digital Spy . Retrieved 24 January 2021. Families can talk about whether the way the characters talk on The Inbetweeners is realistic. Teens: Is this the way you talk with your friends? Do you hear others talking this way?

A first draft for The Inbetweeners Movie was completed before the third series was even written. The story remained mostly similar besides small changes such as a scene in which Jay hires a motorbike, pretending he knows how to ride it, but failing by crashing into a wall. This scene was removed during the writing process for the third series as the pair needed a humorous way to open the episode and thought the motor bike scene would be better suited to the episode than the movie. Principal photography took place in the United Kingdom ( London, West Sussex), Magaluf, and Malia, Crete. [5] A YouTube video shows the lads walking down the Malia Strip, walking past popular clubs 'Corkers', the strip club 'GoGo Lap Dancing Club' and 'Candy Club'. The Interiors of the empty club where Neil shows off his dance moves were shot in Infernos night club on Clapham High Street, London. Archived from the original on 20 October 2008 . Retrieved 18 June 2009. Across its three series, The Inbetweeners operated under the cover of the characters’ age and inexperience. The show got away with such crassness and puerility because it was supposed to be crass and puerile: these were children, fully loaded with ignorance, naivety and stupidity. It laughed at the pathetic wretchedness of their behaviour, poking particular fun at Jay’s lies about his sexual triumphs. It also knew how to craft a genuinely comic scene: Simon’s accidental exposure of his testicle on the runway of a school fashion show is base but undeniably funny. For all the vulgarity and insensitivity, the TV show was always redeemed by the setting and situation. Where The Inbetweeners truly jumped the shark was during its transition to the big screen, where its characters reached adulthood but the humour didn’t. Simon is described as the most normal of the group [17] who leaves "fans feeling sorry for him over and over again". [18]
