Immortal Nights: An Argeneau Novel

Again, Immortal Nights was fun, as usual. Lynsay Sands doesn’t know how to write a “dull moment” into a story. She’s always keeping it light and fun until she has to bring some seriousness into the story. Then, that’s even a little bit funny as well. She writes characters that are interesting, intense and good-natured … that all have a “light” side to them and have a wonderful sense of humor. As I said, I am not sure where she is bringing the next installment of the Argeneau’s but it looks like it may be a bit more serious than Immortal Nights. I’m looking forward to see if she can surprise me and still keep me as entertained as she has throughout this whole series. Full disclosure, I’ve never read any of the Immortal books before and starting on #24 probably wasn’t the best idea. But my library only has a limited selection of audiobooks available and I had to take what I could get. So this review will be from the perspective of someone totally new to the series. En esta ocasion no se si el hecho de ir con pocas expectativas ayudo a que la lectura me gustara mas o si fue simplemente que era el momento ideal para leer este estilo de libro, fuera lo que fuera, la historia me resulto entretenida, amena y graciosa, puede que la trama de misterio ( con todo el asunto de los secuestros ) no avance demasiado en esta parte pero yo sinceramente no lo extrañe, me gusto que todo se centrara en la relacion de Abi y Tomasso. Admito que despues de haber leido algunas reseñas de este libro esperaba una historia bastante floja pero lo cierto es que yo me lo pase genial leyendo y lo que es aun mejor, se me paso en un suspiro.

So I've finally read Immortal Nights which is the twin of the prior book. If you've read the series then you know that you wanted to know more about these twins. Throughout the series whenever they are in a book they are a complete mystery. Yes, you know who they are, but since they didn't really talk much you did really get the feel for them. Things have not been going well for Abigail. After her mother is diagnosed with cancer, Abigail feels that she has not choice but to drop out of medical school to care for her. For months she acts as her mother's caregiver, putting her life on hold but its a sacrifice she's willing to make. When Abigail's mother dies, the only relief that Abigail has is that the money she had saved for medical school and the sale of the house is enough to pay off all of the medical debt. Unfortunately, this leaves Abigail with a few hundred dollars to her name, no job, no plan and feeling alone. When she gets the chance to visit her childhood friend, Abigail jumps at the opportunity never guessing that will lead to her involvement in a kidnapping and ultimately, change her life forever. The Hero(s): Tomasso - he was captured by some ruffians that work for the Doctor whom he and the Enforcers that work for Lucien have been searching for. The doctor is basically a mad scientist who is determined to learn the secrets of the immortals and use them to his advantage. The Doctor has hold up on an island near Venezuela where he keeps his immortal ‘subjects’ that he experiments on.If Abigail only failing had been being a rainy day friend, I perhaps could have lived with that as a failing. Unfortunately, Sands has created a female love interest with low self esteem, who constantly whines about how fat and unattractive she is. Sure to some extent there are women with body issues but Abigail is extreme and constantly doubts that someone as attractive as Tomasso could possibly be interested in her sexually. She even wonders if Tomasso will want to touch her after seeing her in daylight as though she's somehow disfigured because she's fat. The whole thing fatphobic and downright anti woman. Would it really be so hard for Sands to write a female love interest who looks at herself in the mirror and likes what she sees for a change? DIGAMOS que Tomás no es " inmortal" es un chico cualquiera. ¿y si le daba una fiebre y se morian los dos perdidos ahi? luego ocurre al revés , que la protagonista le da dengue ( a ella también le picaron moscos en vez de preocuparse de joderlo debio haber pensando en el dengue ) I really enjoyed this story, it was funny and not at all like some of the previous books which took place in Canada with more than a few of the people from prior books as supporting characters. I liked the tropical location and the situations that these two got into. almost want to give it 4 but it is just not there. I enjoyed it and the series was a favorite so I feel compelled to bump it up but after reading so many better PNRs I just have to leave it at just good.

I liked the introduction of Jet. He seems like he will be an interesting character and a good way to add in another connection to the non Argeneau clan, when he meets his life mate. I wonder who that will be? In the beginning Lynsay (I feel we're on a first name basis since I've been reading her vampire romances since they first came out) wrote some cute and delightful romances that involved vampires and would make me laugh out loud. I couldn't eat or drink while reading them because I knew - just KNEW - at some point I would laugh until a pig snort came out. Then she left that part of the series and went towards the vampire enforcers. Now suddenly they have a cookie cutter plot and books are churned out every 6 months or so. Take this book for example. You're not emotionally involved but worried about exposure, infections, poison and sleeping on sand. And insects.... You will soon find yourself hooked with its fresh fantasies as you keep enveloping in darkness and learn how to claim ascendancy over the weaklings. The major highlight throughout is the thrill and horror of combating wild creates of the night. Not being able to anticipate the numerous possibilities of this vampire game makes this the finest of its kind. You've got choice either to choose to be a bountiful vampire or a powerful wolfman.I also am glad that it seems like you got a little bit more information about what is going on with the missing people. I'm really enjoying this substory in the series. It takes a long series and rejuvenates it. Not enough humor to make up for the plot. There is a bit but not the constant that some of the older books had. For me, humor can make up for a so/so plot, this one just didn't do it. It read like the miserable journal entries of a girl lost in an unhospitable environment with a gorgeous guy who blows hot and cold. Immortal Nights is another must read adventure in the Argeneau series. I loved Dante but his twin, Tommasso, has brought that same smoldering sexy steam…maybe even more. Eunseol, who had wandered the battlefield living as a juvenile soldier, sets foot in the family as the daughter-in-law of Baek Empire's Imperial General, Ki Haewoon. No one expected to learn the truth that Baekwoon, the eldest son of Haewoon, has already become married. In addition, Haewoon declares that he will make her unborn child, who also doesn't exist yet, as the successor. And on a bright moonlit night, he came to visit her place! Immortal Nights, the latest release in the Argeneau series was delightful, funny but very silly at times. Out of all the books I have read from this author, this one was the most unrealistic of them all. I really liked the plot and the characters were fun and we do get to see more of Tomasso's brother and his lifemate Mary and more fun times with Lucien. Oh that man, he is so hilarious especially when he is trying to be so stern and doesn't get away with it. I love seeing him in later books and the way his lifemate and other women in his family work him. Quite entertaining. Now the actual romance between Tomasso and Abigail was lighthearted but felt a bit too fluffy for me. I wasn't able to quite feel it like I normally do until the very end which was a bit disappointing since I was expecting quite a bit from this book. Their relationship felt a bit too rushed, most of the story line felt too rushed in my opinion. I did like the sense of danger and adventure that is added in here with a unique setting too. That was definitely the highlight of the story for me, was seeing these characters in a place this author hasn't done before. And the villains even though they aren't good people didn't feel so "bad" more like just they had a "dumb" type of mentality but not the sort of villain you would be at the edge of your seat reading though. So even though I liked this book and would recommend it to fans of this series, its not a story I would necessarily put on my shelves.Es cierto que esta saga no es tan asombrosa como lo fue en sus inicios y que algunos de los ultimos libros me han dejado un poco indiferente pero por alguna razon ( quizas el cariño que le tengo a la serie ) siempre termino cayendo y leyendo la ultima novela publicada. Which is why at the time I couldn't wait for their books. So of course did I read it? No. But now I have read them both and I'm so glad. I love Tomasso. He is such a wonderful hero in this book. When you first meet Abby you feel for her. She's been through so much and it seems isn't done yet. It's wonderful that after losing her mom that she could find someone to share her life with. Tomasso is just what she needs. I was also intrigued by her friend Jet and can't wait to see what more is going to happen in his life. So, Lynsay Sands totally amazes me. Twenty four books into the Argeneau series but, she always comes up with a new storyline and characters that are fun and exciting. She mixes the old with the new, always makes me laugh and definitely has me looking for a life mate. I won't be describing their romance because I can't. These two never came to life and their romance was as flat as cardboard.

Ni siquiera me acuerdo bien de los nombres , se nota que no me ha impactado mucho. la primica es cool. Abigail se sube de polisón por su amigo el piloto Jet al avión donde está Tomasso secuestrado. ÉL se despierta y se tira del avión con la chica porque es su compañera de vida. Caen en la selva . Tú dices WOOW. ¡va haber lucha o tal vez hablen mucho! ... Immortal Nights although a bit silly and has too much fluff in the plot at times....was a fun and entertaining story with a bit of adventure and sensuality to curl your toes!!! I'm addicted to witty, vampire romance and Lynsay Sands has surprised me more than once. But this one failed on all counts. The characters were annoying and hard to warm up to, the plot was slow and disjointed. The mythos surrounding the Immortals was poorly explained. And this was very obviously a filler book for the broader, over-arching series plot because a big bad villain is discussed but there’s zero payoff to his story.

I did feel that the romance was a bit on the rushed side, but that didn't take away from the fun and exciting story that Sands was giving her readers. I love Tomasso and glad he finally got his own HEA especially after he has watched everyone else find there's. Sands brought the humor and of course supplied her readers with previous characters which was a big plus for me since I love them all. I'm not sure why I let myself get so far behind on this series. Here's the thing, I really enjoy it so...I think it's just that for a while there I was reading the same authors over and over and the same type of book that I got a little burned out.
