Now I find I’m having to rub harder than I want, so I want more to come out so I’m going to use the coarse one now. And very gently – shouldn’t be hard – do you see what’s happened? It’s revealed some of the Giverny there. So I’m going to go more Protective waxing or a sealer coat of polyurethane can extend the life of chalk paint. Experts recommend sealing chalk paint finishes with a protective wax to prevent wear and tear, especially in high-traffic areas or high-touch surfaces. For peace of mind, brands like Rust-Oleum and others provide their own protective top coats designed for use with their chalk paint.So I’ve got this old piece of furniture and I’ve painted it many times over the years so it’s got a lot of texture on it. Some of you won’t want to use your finger. I like it because it’s sensitive, but you could put a cloth over it, or you could use a brush. It’s just that you have to be a little bit more sensitive to it, but it’s fine. It’s your choice. Y’all this stuff is so easy. I’ve been wanting to add some gold accents around our new rustic beach cottage, but I didn’t want to spend any money.

I’ve waxed everything with the Clear Wax and now I’m going to sand it. I’m going to use my Sanding Pads. They’re really good because you’ve got the medium one, that’s the green one. The pink one is a fine one, and the blue one is coarse. Tips & How To's

So to do it, I’m just going to put a little bit on my finger… a tiny bit and then I’m going to start wiping just to show up the relief. And because there’s quite a bit of texture in the paint, it’s not applying it flatly, which is perfect. Stir your pot thoroughly prior to use to ensure the colour is properly mixed. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood. If rolling, use a short nap mohair roller.
