About this deal

We have a much more indepth article on triple sec if you'd like to sink your teeth into this subject, but the short answer is triple sec is a dry orange liqueur made using a neutral beet sugar distillate. Dried orange peels are steeped into this neutral spirit, which is then redistilled. The result is a very intense orange flavoured spirit that's blended with more neutral spirit, sugar and water to give us triple sec. The terms Triple Sec, Curaçao, and orange liqueur are often used interchangeably. All three are fruit liqueurs with Orange liqueurdescribing the general subcategory of sweet liqueurs with orange flavor. Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur: Produced in Sicily,Solerno (80 proof)is a premium liqueur with a deep, darker orange flavor. It has a neutral spirit base and goes through three rounds of distillation: one with whole Sanguinello blood oranges, one with blood orange peel, and one with Sicilian lemons. The different ingredients in Triple Sec and Curacao lead to slight variations in taste and smell. Both liqueurs have a very fragrant aroma and a distinct orange note. Like many other spirits and liqueurs, Curaçao and Triple Sec have alternative uses. For once, you can use stronger, higher-proof bottles as antiseptics in an emergency. However, they both are better when used for cooking or making desserts.

Explaining Orange Liqueur can be as easy or as complicated as you want, but we will start with the short and easy version. These days the Seville orange and several other varieties are used for both types of orange liqueurs. Their peels are soaked in alcohol and then get distilled to concentrate the flavors.Curacao is generally said to be the original orange liqueur. Created in the 17th century by the Dutch on the island called Curacao, it is now both a category of liqueurs and a brand name. Cognac’s six appellations, or Crus, circle the city of Cognac. Their soils range from light chalk to clay, with the most desirable regions containing the most chalk, which provides superior drainage. The two most prestigious Crus are Grand Champagne and Petite Champagne. (Don’t confuse these with the famous French sparkling wine region located more than 200 miles northeast!) Cognacs made with a blend from these two areas – with at least 50 percent from Grand Champagne – may carry the label “Fine Champagne.”

Some consider the taste of both liqueurs identical and claim that the term secfor dry is nothing more than a marketing gag. Yet, when tasting them side by side, you can clearly detect the differences. Appearance

Review and Tasting

We believe that the Dutch trading companies made orange liqueur popular in the 17th century. They found fruits and herbs all over the world during their voyages, and used some to make essentialoils. But one was special: the Laraha Orange, which was only found on the Caribbean island of Curaçao. Savor: The ending rounds out sweet – but slowly turns pithy. The flavor of candied oranges and slightly nutty cognac lingers. Curaçaois another generic term for orange liqueurs with a distinct bitter orange taste. The liqueur is similar to Triple Sec in appearance and flavor and is a vibrant orange liqueur with an alcohol content of 15 - 40%. Made from Laraha oranges ( Citrus aurantium currassuviensis)from Curaçao, this liqueur gained its distinctive slightly bitter taste.
