Description

Purge PRE V2 is the second version of Purge Sport’s original Purge pre-workout. So we were expecting some big things for this product. Usually dosed with L-Citrulineor similar, it increased your vascular appearance and helps with the delivery of blood and oxygen to those all import muscles. This ingredient is meant to mimic that high stim, focus like energy (for short periods of time) that DMAA used to provide. Dosage amounts really do vary on this one, so we wont try to speculate here. Studies have shown that 3,200+ mg is the clinical dose. Hats off, they have given you a decent dose.

It’s clear to see that Purge Sports have researched the ingredients added in this pre-workout and attempted to create an effective product. However, Purge PRE V2 hasn’t quite met our expectations. Now, Purge PRE V2 contains a nig 325mg dosage of Caffeine Anhydrous, which is worrying if you have a low tolerance to this stimulant. We, personally would be worried about suffering jitters regularly with this dosage. Creatine is typically dosed with a loading phase of 5 g, four times per day for 5–7 days, followed by a 3–5-g daily maintenance dose. However, higher doses may be recommended in some cases ( 7). Some research is suggesting that supplementing ornithine might reduce fatigue and improve measures of athletic performance such as speed, strength, and power in some people. If there’s one ingredient in Purge PRE V2 that we would remove, then it would be Betaine Anhydrous.

The recommended dose for citrulline malate, a common form of this ingredient, is 6–8 g — though many pre-workout supplements offer smaller amounts and may not provide the potential benefits ( 20). Your second dose of caffeine comes in the form of a seed extract. Often found in energy drinks, as a 'natural caffeine source'. Beta alanine is an amino acid that reduces acidity in your muscles during exercise, which may help you sustain your workout for slightly longer.

Also known as ‘N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine’, this is believed to offer effects similar to that of stimulants to increase your energy levels and performance in the gym. Not the first and it wont be the last time we see Tyrosine, added to pre workouts to help with alertness, as well as increasing stamina and general performance. As it’s difficult to determine which ingredient is causing digestive issues, you may want to try different pre-workout formulas until you find one you can tolerate. summary However, as we’ve said about 100 times by now, as Purge PRE V2 contains an overload of stimulants already, Hordinine increases your risk of side effects further. So it goes without saying that we would rather not have this here. It has been shown to increase high intensity exercise capacity and lean body mass gains from exercise ( 7).

Agmatine Sulfate is an ingredient that we’re not completely sold by. It’s actually used to alleviate pain or help treat drug addicts, but it’s also believed to improve your sporting performance. Interestingly, using too little water when mixing pre-workout supplements may likewise upset your digestion. Too concentrated a liquid could lead to diarrhea ( 19). Ways to reduce side effects Used to help delay the onset of fatigue. Though currently there is little, to no evidence that it works or even has any positive effects at all! We’ve always had mixed opinions on Beta-Alanine; this is because it can improve your gym session, while causing a minor side effect (itchy and tingly skin). The power house of the majority of stim based pre workouts. A 300mg dose will give you the hit that you need, without going into crazy territory.

The suggested amount is around 700 mg - 3,000 mg to start seeing that 'pump' and seeing any extended training benefits. However, this isn’t exactly a good thing; as we mentioned, Purge PRE V2 already contains a big dosage of Caffeine Anhydrous, as well as DiCaffeine Malate.Where you find Caffeine, you will find Taurine. Great for reducing the crash, jitters and shakes that caffeine can give you. Another ingredient with mild downsides is niacin, which is included in many pre-workout supplements for its skin-flushing effects. In high doses of 500 mg or more, it can trigger a blood rush to the surface of your skin, resulting in red patches ( 12).
