About this deal

For this summer season, OPI decided that the focus should be not only on having the best manicures and pedicures, but it is most important that we understand the impact of our actions on the LGBTQIA+ youths. This summer, it is high time to show everyone the true Power of Hue! This bold and colourful collection of summer nail polishes and gel nail varnishes is as versatile as it is prismatic. This collection includes all of the colours of the rainbow and the addition of holographic glitter makes this collection stand out from the rest! Although I just shared the swatches of the OPI Spring 2022 collection, slowly some information about the OPI Summer 2022 collection is being released! Every time OPI releases a new collection, I’m super excited. This time is definitely no different! The new collection is going to be called ‘Power of hue’ and will consist of 12 bright new shades.

AKT offers help to any member of the LGBTQIA+ in the UK who is either experiencing homelessness or is living in a hostile environment. They offer homes, education and training to anyone aged 16-25 who is struggling. This is definitely the prettiest OPI collection I have seen in a while, especially since all of these shades are going to be opaque shimmers. It reminds me a bit of what I wanted the OPI Summer 2019 to be. I’m glad that we now get what we want! Again, a little more sheer and uneven on the 1st coat, but I was able to get it opaque with 2 coats. And again, you know the drill, it’ll depend on your application – you might need a 3rd for any last visible nail line. Like the brighter pink shades above, it also dried with a more satin matte finish. Use a detail brush and Infinite Shine Alpine Snow to create dots for eyes and a smile. Allow to dry. Sky True to Yourself: This is a beautiful baby blue scattered with soft blue and pearlescent shimmers. The formulation is sheer so I needed three coats. The OPI Power of Hue Collection not only has a wonderful colour palette but a wonderful message behind it and in this blog, we will explore both!

Alright, up first we have a quad of pink shades. And starting out that lineup, we have ‘Sugar Crush It’. This is the lightest and most “ballet pink” of the shades, and it has delicate iridescent flakes all throughout. Now we finish on up with our purples. This is ‘Don’t Wait, Create’ and it’s the lighter of the 2, and it’s a warm toned lilac base with scattered silvery flakey shimmers all throughout. The OPI Power of Hue Collection is one of the best OPI summer collections. Not only because of its bright and bold colour palette and that AMAZING holographic glitter but because of the message behind it. Orly Pop! Summer 2022 • Glam Polish Cosmic Holos Collection • China Glaze Jurassic World Summer 2022 • Essie Summer 2022 •LA Colors Boho Chic Collection • Pleasing Shroom Bloom Collection Now for all 12 of these shades, none are straight up creams. All of these have some sort of shimmer and glitter to them – from a subtle fine glitter flash, to scattered glitters to larger glitter flakes. This is a shimmer collection, so if you want these colors and just a cream formula, this is not the collection. Just getting that right out there. I do love different formulas and a theme for a mainstream brand, so I wasn’t mad at OPI trying something new. Alright, into the individual shades. This summer, stamp nails with positive vibes and positive vibes only. Using a mix of vibrant shades from our Power of Hue Collection and a pencil eraser, this DIY smiley face technique will show the world how happy hue are inside and out. Hot tip! We used Infinite Shine for its long lasting staying power and extra shiny wear because this is a look that deserves its moment. All of the OPI Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection shades remind me of a bowl of colourful Skittles or something, but they’re just so perfect for summer. It’s a gorgeous collection, and all twelve polishes are available right now. For the Power of Hue Collection, OPI also supported the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT), a non-profit organisation dedicated to offering help to members of the LGBTQIA+ who struggle to find stable housing. The OPI Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection is a stunning, twelve-piece nail polish collection and will be available in their original Nail Lacquer formula, their GelColor formula, and Infinite Shine formula. The Albert Kennedy Trust also discovered that 59% of the people who have entered their study have faced at least one form of abuse or discrimination when attempting to access help services because of their identity.

At Nail Polish Direct, we celebrate diversity within our team and our dedicated customers, and similar to OPI, we also believe in offering everyone the tools that allow them to express themselves freely. Exercise Your Brights: A dazzling raspberry jam bright pink with a glimmering shimmer. Power of Hue Summer Nail Polish Collection: Plus, we have also created a breakdown of all of the nail polish colours from the collection which will help you decide which one is the best for you! It was definitely a little uneven on the 1st coat, and I was able to get most nails opaque with a 2nd. Though I did have some patches on some nails that I covered with a 3rd so again, it’ll depend on your own application. And again, just like the previous shade, and you can see in the photos, it dries with a more satin matte finish, so top coat to really bring out the sparkle and shine.

Bee Unapologetic: This is a sheer bright yellow with golden iridescent shimmers. I don't mind sheer polishes as long as the coverage is even. However, similar to previous shades, Bee Unapologetic is sheer but patchy so I needed three coats for a smooth and even coverage. The Future Is Yours: This is a soft caramel nude with a subtle hint of golden iridescence. Similar to the previous shades, the coverage is not great so I needed three coats for the swatches below.

Logically, of course, we move right onto the yellow. This is ‘Bee Unapologetic’ (I do love that name), and it’s a bright lemon yellow shimmer shade. Well HELLO there! You know what time it is. I think I say this every single time and every single season, but it’s the most exciting time of the year because we’re looking at A NEW OPI COLLECTION. Listen, I’ll say it straight out, OPI collections are always the most popular posts on my blog, so I know you’re all as excited about them as I am. And this one has a full range of bright summery colors that cover a whole shimmery rainbow. And of course we need a TRUE BRIGHT ORANGE in the lineup. This is ‘Mango For It’, a true bright tropical orange base with tons of golden shimmer all throughout. There are actually going to be two minisets this time. One will include four shades (Mango for it, Pink BIG, Don’t wait create and Sky true to yourself), and one will include six mini shades (Pink Big, Mango for it, Bee unapologetic, Make rainbows, Feel bluetiful, and Go through grape lengths). I’m actually a huge fan of minisets myself, so I love that there is a large one and a smaller one! Created in partnership with The Trevor Project, this collection wants you to celebrate your individuality in style! Make Rainbows: A bright summer green, Make Rainbows stands out from the rest with a fine sprinkle of frosty blue shimmers (instead of iridescent flake shimmers). Unfortunately, the color is still sheer so I needed three coats for the swatches below. Offering you a wide and polymorphic colour palette, this new collection is perfect not only for the summer season but for throughout the year! Including both warm and cool tones of nail polish, the OPI Power of Hue Collection is a remarkable addition to any collection of nail varnishes.
