About this deal

It is with great sadness that we have on the 14th October lost the great Arthur Land at the age of 93 who was a past player at Red Lion and Castle Park Clubs. He also was a regular on the bowls competition circuit for decades, put a lot into promoting the game over the years and knew thousands of players. Our condolences go to all his family on losing Arthur who was such a gentleman and respected around the greens. In terms of his funeral, details are

Sad news from Upton Victory Hall, Norman Howells sadly passed away last week and Frank Heggarty passed away Tuesday Night. Our thoughts are with his Family, Friends, and Bowling Colleagues. The Annual General Meeting Agenda and any other papers will be distributed shortly before the meeting. A new Treasurer is still required for the association as the Wallasey Association will not be able to operate without one. The date of the 2023 AGM will be advertised in due course. Clubs are reminded that Any Notices of motion must be received in writing by no later than 30th September. These will then be circulated to all clubs. Amendments to these notices of motion may be submitted by no later than 31st October. No proposal or amendment shall be discussed unless it is seconded. Any Club that has any Notices of Motion for discussion at the AGM should ensure that they reach me by no later than Saturday 30th September.

The Draw for The Shield and Centenary Cup Semi-Finals can be viewed from the Competition Results Tab . Where neutral greens are selected for cup games two players from the clubs involved are allowed to play there in each team regardless of whether they play for that club in another league, this rule has been introduced because of the increased difficulty in finding neutral greens. We have just been advised that Graham Anyon who played for Higher Tranmere and later Harrison Park passed away on Saturday. He was a fine bowler and will be remembered by bowlers of a certain age. At the moment Soot Hill is closed so if you're travelling from Northwich you will have to go via Barnton.
