About this deal

The next set that will be coming out sometime in October will be of a Venator Star Destroyer from the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. This massive set will be a part of LEGO's Ultimate Collector Series and will contain a whopping 5,374 pieces. While the inclusion of The Phantom II would be appreciated, the ship already has a set in the form of 75170 The Phantom.

Exact details of what this set will include have not been released as of this time, but it was confirmed that it would come with four figurines of Rey, Finn, BB-8, and Chewbacca. 2.) Republic Gunship [75354] LAAT Republic Gunship I presume the nose has been constructed this way to accommodate hinges underneath, so it opens for easy access to the interior. The function is welcome, but I think a simple removable canopy would have been acceptable here, given the scale of the shuttle. There is only enough room for one minifigure inside, but even Hera's lekku fit comfortably. Looks-wise, LEGO have nailed the Ghost here, and this does look like one of the strongest LEGO Star Wars releases of 2023, so I expect this to be pretty popular! The rear section leaves a lot to be desired. Given its proximity to the engines, this would have been an ideal place for some internal mechanical detail. Alternatively, there is ample space for the bunk beds shown regularly in Star Wars Rebels, maybe featuring some of Sabine's artwork or the hidden storage compartment where Kanan keeps a holocron.Ghost & Phantom II was revealed to acclaim in July and I have been looking forward to the set more than any other released this summer. Fortunately, the Ghost does not disappoint! The vehicle looks absolutely stunning, featuring an accurate colour combination and wonderful texture across the exterior, substantially improving on 75053 The Ghost. The model also feels very tactile, as every panel is firmly attached. The adorable recreation of baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) was one of the most popular LEGO sets released in 2022. However, the follow-up set this year may surprise you. LEGO opted to Venomize everyone’s favorite anthropomorphic tree, mixing him with another iconic Marvel alien. 76249, Venomized Groot, is a perfect blend of the clashing styles, providing a cute yet deadly little extraterrestrial figure perfect for spicing up any Marvel display. Given the almost legend-status of the original LEGO Ghost and Phantom, I think this set will sell incredibly well, especially if the Ahsoka series is well-received.

I turned on a video the other day about analyzing the problems of the Millennium Falcon's design, and turned off about halfway through when I realized it was 40 minutes long and that I would have to suffer another 20 minutes of listening to a voice that sounds like it came from Animaniacs' "Please Please Please Please Get A Life" short. The part where the YouTuber began talking about "well anybody with REAL physics knowledge would note the efficiency loss from the Falcon's radial engines" really got me since personally as a senior mechanical engineering student I watch stuff like Star Wars so I don't HAVE to think about real physics for a hot minute!Another Return of the Jedi diorama said to be on the way in 2023, this set will reportedly capture the frenetic speeder bike chase through the forests of Endor – and there are plenty of ways the LEGO Group could really make this a Star Wars set to remember. A third diorama is apparently also in the works, depicting Jabba’s Palace, but we’re still waiting on a specific set number for that one. (There are several free slots in the current list.) 75355 [UCS]

Han Solo’s trusty piece of junk ship, the Millennium Falcon, isn’t just one of the most famous spaceships in the galaxy far, far away; it’s one of the most famous spaceships in human history. The iconic vessel has been made many times in LEGO form, but none more prominent than 75192. Part of the Ultimate Collectors Series (UCS) banner, this 7,541-piece behemoth is the largest LEGO S tar Wars set ever. Fans can recreate iconic scenes from the Original Star Wars Trilogy but also have the option to swap out the minifigures and radar dish to match characters from the newer Sequel Trilogy. The UCS Millennium Falcon is the ultimate prize for any LEGO collector, a set worthy of its spot in the pantheon of LEGO greatness.Time will tell if this new style is a one-time build for the 40th anniversary, or if this is the first of a new series of Midi-scale display pieces. Personally, I’m hoping this is the start of a new series! It is also likely that LEGO will release some sets based on the Skeleton Crew series that will hit Disney+ sometime in late-2023, possibly as early as November. The set is said to contain 5 Minifigures: Hera, Chopper, Quarrie, Hera's son Jacen and another yet unknown figure. Along with the Gunship, this set will be released on September 1st.
