About this deal

The options menu has a variety of powerful options, and handy subtitles to explain each option. You can set aspect ratio, scanlines, button mapping, hotkey mapping, and more on a system-level or on a per-game basis. files just mean that a file was splitted to be shared, in the case of Garlic is just because Patreon has a limit on the size of the file to be hosted so Seraph needed to split it. Once you have added your games, you are ready to go. Insert your card(s) into the RG35XX and enjoy! One more accessory to consider: if you don’t have a nice microSD to USB adapter, you might want to think about getting one. A nice adapter like this one from Ankerwill give you the fastest transfer speeds possible, and won’t cause any corruption issues with your card.

The rumble motor now receives its data via a separate thread (this fixes the FPS drops people have been experiencing in rumble enabled PlayStation & GBA games) Threaded rendering is now disabled by default to further reduce input latency where possible (except for PS1 & arcade cores which need threaded rendering to reach full speed) If you find that one of your MAME roms isn't showing a friendly name, it might not be in this list! RetroArch Overlays Created an overlay for the MAME2003-Xtreme core to disable the Normal2x filter (it doesn't really handle it well)

If you have populated your RG35XX PS folder with games yet GarlicOS has not presented PlayStation as a console option this is likely due to GarlicOS not having the functionality to read sub folders and that your games each have dedicated folders. For GarlicOS to see your games all your games must be directly in the console folder. Finally, muOS is a custom firmware that is based on RetroArch. It is lightweight, but has some innovative designs, like the muOS options menu.

The overlay render thread is now pinned to the fourth CPU core (which translates to free performance as RetroArch occupies mostly the first two CPU cores) The MicroSD card image version no longer installs u-boot updates on first boot (as the MicroSD card version always ships with the latest one anyway) Note that theme support is rather inconsistent between versions. For now, I suggest you don't install a custom theme. Start new game Added RetroArch CPU controls (this allows us to do per-core and even per-game fine tuning of the CPU) The hardware-accelerated linear scaler is now set as the default scaler for every core (this translates to a free 20% performance boost & universal tearing fix pretty much)Fixed the crocods libretro core (Amstrad emulator, keep in mind this one doesn't support zipped games) Fixed the XRGB8888 color converter in the MAME2003-Xtreme core (fixes Captain America and The Avengers amongst others) A: GarlicOS don't have a sleep function, it simply shutdown the system and when it boots, it just resume your game. To shutdown/start the device, just take a look at the led on the top of the device, hold the power button until it cycles. Added the puae_2021 libretro core and made it the AMIGA & AMIGACD default core (pretty much a free speed boost, still not full speed though) The Saves & Screenshots directories are now auto-created on boot (to work around some retroarch.cfg limitations... this fixes the screenshot issues people were reporting)

Finally, I would recommend that you build your ROM library now, if you haven’t already. The device comes with a bunch of games, but they are poorly organized, in the Chinese language, or just outright buggy. Make a folder called “ROMS” or something like it, and make distinct folders for each of the systems you would like to play on your device. I recommend naming your game folders after the “Rom Folder” names found in this guide, because that’s how they’ll be organized on your device when using GarlicOS. For best results, unzip your files with the exception of Arcade/NeoGeo titles. Configured Supafaust to run its renderer in a separate thread (pretty much needed to even have a shot at SuperFX games)Added a GPSP folder mapping and system icon (for those that absolutely need their GBA games to run with gpSP) Fixed a governor related bug in the RetroArch CPU controls (this fixes the crashes when exiting games) As GarlicOS continues to develop, I would expect frequent updates. Thankfully, updating the system is relatively easy.

Fixed the battery gauge icon padding (it was off by 4 pixel, I knew something felt off about it...) It's a fast & easy to understand operating system that should make Miyoo Mini / OnionOS users feel right at home with its similar look & feel! Fixed a bug in the recent game list that (sometimes) required you to delete a game twice for it to disappear Note that 320x240 is used here, despite the native resolution being 640x480. This is done to create smaller image files which load faster.

Powering off now behaves identically in both the GarlicOS menu & RetroArch (tapping the power button is enough now) The linear scaler is now hardware-accelerated (using the LCD panel's hardware-scaler plus some glue-code to ensure "Keep aspect ratio" doesn't break, using this new scaler also solves all the remainder tearing issues people reported in games like Super Mario Bros) Set the Bilinear4x NEON scaler as the new default (this reduces CPU consumption by about 50% and increases graphical fidelity) A: Make sure that you are using the correct folder for your system on the Roms folder in the ROMS partition (or on SD card 2). Looks like MAC creates a lot of junk folders starting with . (dot), which messes with Garlic. So make sure your file explorer shows hidden files and delete those folders.
