About this deal

When I was given the chance to read this book a couple of months ago, I grabbed it, ran away and devoured it!

It starts with a body being found on Crowpoint, which is an eerie bit of beach that points into the torrid Torrent estuary and of course the team have to work out who the murderer is.’ hree Rivers is book four in the DI Tanner series by David Blake. DS Jenny Evans helped friend rescue sailors from an overturned boat. However, DS Jenny Evans did not expect to find a murder victim. During the investigation, DI John Tanner did not accept the chain of evidence. When another person dies, DS Jenny Evans and DI John Tanner have to race against time to find the murderer. This is an enticing coming of age story. That begins dark, yet grows into something I was not expecting. Stella has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember, and she has done it. She is part of a show and is succeeding in that part of her life. In every other part she is spiraling down a drain. Looking for acceptance and friendship in everyone she comes across. Being used for drugs and in exchange for a "friendship". This destructive behavior leads to a horrifying night, when one of the other castmates overdoses at Stella's home. Anyway, there were parts of this book that I loved and parts that I didn't BUT it is well written. And, other people seem to have really liked it... so, please don't take my word for it! Give it a go if it interests you and make up your own mind. :)We just have to trust Stella’s word? Why didn’t we get to experience her learning skills and supposed growth? Very little of the wilderness training was described; Stella would just suddenly be advancing for no discernible reason. Where is her hard work and learning? It didn’t feel like she earned graduation at all. Tea and Griffin embark on a very steamy and sexy secret relationship that is supposed to only last while he is in town. Their chemistry is smoking hot which translated into a very steamy, sexy read. Your novels always have such a strong sense of place, what made you choose North Devon for this series?

Stella herself is all over the place about her acting success. She, on several occasions, remarks that she's been in the public eye her entire life, but then mentions almost quitting acting because she couldn't break out of commercials. Listen. There isn't a soul in America who can identify some rando kid in a commercial unless you already knew that kid, so it really wasn't until CDS that Stella would have been realistically recognizable. I'm not discounting her four seasons in CDS, but Stella seems to conflate her commercial gigs with her spot on CDS. I also wouldn't say that she stars on the show. She's a side character. I actually laughed out loud when Stella made this ridiculous proclamation: I am so glad I read this book. This was provided by a blogger for a review tour and I don’t regret it one bit, even if I am doing this at an insane hour!!! I devoured this book in one day!! It’s that good. As a local girl, I was so taken with the descriptive way Ms Barlow has described the city through out the book. It was wonderful to read all the places I am fimiliar with described through out the book. You need not be from here to "enjoy the scenery", it made the story rich with detail any reader can enjoy. For her debut book, I think Chloe hit it out of the park. It gave me more then I wanted. It kept me up reading until I fell asleep with my ipad in my hand and then I couldn’t put it down at all the next day. I can’t wait until her next book.Althea experiences an unimaginable tragedy. Griffen wholly guards himself against personal relationships because of an unimaginable upbringing. Since "in Pittsburgh there (are) only two, maybe three, degrees of separation between people" Griffen and Althea soon find themselves wrapped in a whirlwind of a major commonality. Three Rivers journeys the self-discoveries for both of these characters in by such satisfying means for the reader by understanding both together and apart. Chemistry and passion knows no bounds between the two as the reader embarks on an incredibly emotional ride. They’re funny, playful, deep, and soulful and since their story is so brilliantly written we feel each of those emotions.
