About this deal

Noemi has been purposefully silent since the death of her mother 6 months ago. She is threatened daily by her father and she fears for the life of her young brother who is fully under her father's spell. She has no dreams or hopes for a pleasant future and just tries to stay out of her father's way. When the mandate to marry an Irish rival comes about, she fears like she will go from one prison to another. The story itself was amazing. I have to admit, throughout most of it, I just couldn't see how Ramsower was going to get them out of the danger they faced. I could honestly see no way out without severe repercussions to all. But trust Ramsower to give you those twists that, in the end, make perfect sense.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Noemi and Connor) SILENT VOWS follows the building relationship and arrange marriage between Irish Mafia heir Connor Reid, and twenty year old Noemi Mancini. Six months earlier, a car accident took the life of Noemi’s mother, and in the wake, our heroine opted to become a selective mute. Refusing to talk, fearing she would meet the same fate as her beloved mother, Noemi became a prisoner in her father’s home, a prisoner whose life was threatened on a daily basis. In the hopes of procuring more power and control, Noemi’s father Fausto Mancini offered his daughter to the Irish mob, an offer Connor Reid jumped at the chance to partake but Connor suspected all was not well in Noemi’s life, and with the help of his family, began to investigate the man who offered up his daughter to the highest bidder. What ensues is the building relationship between Noemi and Connor, and the potential fall-out as the Irish, Italian and Albanian Mafias are pushed together in a war for power and control. Silent Vows is the first book in The Byrne Brothers series by Jill Ramsower. It can be read as a standalone. Silent Vows is told in first person, from dual perspective. Slowly, I turned to peer at the man who sat behind me and tried to remember how to breathe when my gaze collided with the bluest eyes I’d ever seen. A deep blue so radiant it hypnotized like those fish down at the bottom of the ocean that dangled brilliant lights to distract their prey before swallowing them whole. Even the shadow cast by his prominent brow couldn’t dull the richness of color. The bonus epilogue was the cherry on top.In the midst of my crippling sorrow, fear and fury simmered to life beneath my surface. All of it was directed at one man. The same man who should have been my solace and sanctuary. I became so furious with my father that I feared what I might say. That he’d hear the accusation and frustration coating my words and figure out I knew the truth.

Shadow Play” was Reader’s Favorite Award for Honorable Mention in Urban Fantasy in 2019. “Born of Nothing” was a finalist for the IAN Book of the Year Awards in 2019. The hero even asked the heroine how many boyfriend she had and what parts of her body that the boyfriends touch🤣 I know you have a lot of old scars to heal, and we didn’t start down this road in the most conventional way, but the one thing in this world I never want you to doubt is me and my commitment to you." Within a year of self-publishing her first book, Jill Ramsower quit her job as an attorney and dedicated her days to churning out romantic adventures. She likes to think of her books as contemporary romance with a touch of fantasy--at its core, her writing is about the connection between two people. Sometimes that connection involves a little magic...

Noemi’s been promised to the Irish. Her dad is going to kill her if she refuses, just like he murdered Noemi’s mom six months ago. His merciless ambitions stole the light out of her eyes and silenced Noemi in the process. She has yet to speak a single word since her mom died. Rowan gets herself in a bit of trouble and reaches out to Keir for help. Cue the possessive, alpha bad boy and you have the rest of the story. It's a good one that gets you to a HEA. Both characters bring baggage into their relationship, but Rowan's is extensive. Her baggage is the reason she's in trouble and her growth pushes the story forward. Despite not knowing each other well, Keir jumps in the save her and ultimately begins the process of helping her heal. Mafia romances are usually centered around the mmc. Keir gave Rowan the stage. She was his and the plot’s main focus and she was intriguing enough to keep the interest throughout the book. I struggled a bit with Ro’s inner monologues at the beginning but I learned to like them and in the end, I fully loved them. Copy received from The Next Step PR. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own. He’d orchestrated the accident that had stolen the best part of my world from me. My mother. My heart. Without her, a gaping hole had been carved from my soul.

Even when she liked keir and started to have feelings for him. She didn’t gave herself easily until he proved himself. Love Jill Ramsower books; she never disappoints. This book is no different. Love the story and the characters. This follows Noemi and Connor. Noemi has been promised to the Irish Mafia family. Her father killed her mother and if she refuses the hand of the Irish she fears her father will do the same. Connor is intrigued by the mysterious woman who is labelled an unsuitable bride due to being mute. Which is perfect because that makes her silent. But something is just not right.I knew exactly what I was getting into from our very first conversation. Maybe not the specifics, but I knew nothing with you would be dull or ordinary. I chose that-chose you and I'd do it again in heartbeat” She did it in book 1 hyping me up for kier and now she’s doing this for Torin and I’m sooo exited for his book!!! 🤭 Keir and Rowan’s story completely blew my mind. The emotional punch it dealt with me was unexpected. This story could stand completely on its own (apart from the series) but yet it also enhanced the overall storyline arc of the Byrne Brothers. La elegida es Noemí hija de un capo de gran influencia, ella sufrió una accidente seis meses antes donde murió su mamá y desde ese traumático suceso ella no habla, sin embargo un porque detrás de eso.

I was engaged and invested from the very beginning by Michelle Sparks & Gabriel Spiers’ narration. It was a first for me for both these narrators and I’m really glad they worked well together to make my listening experience fantastic! Keir is a complete alphahole but in the best way possible. His brooding demeanor and touch her and die vibes are everything I love in a protective hero. The way he supports Rowan and never gives up on her is simply swoon-worthy. His understanding and connection to Rowen is what makes romance so amazing. Ps. Rowan is not mentally stable. She even talk to herself as if her twin sister lives in her head.)Curse and Craving” is the first novel in the “Of Myth and Man” series and was released in 2022. Rebecca’s new job landed her in this new country, however it may as well have been a whole different world. There’s this underground world of secrets and magic ruthlessly guarded by this elite group of Fae warriors. This place has brought out a power buried deep inside of Rebecca. A monstrous and dark power. She’s got no choice but to turn to the Fae for their help. I find I get to a certain point in a book and become ready for it to end, but with Silent Vows, it could have went on and on...and I would have gladly kept reading!" -Amity, Netgalley Her father spends the next 6 months threatening her to keep her mouth shut or he would harm her and her younger brother. Who btw was absolutely clueless the entire book and was blinded by his idolization of his father. I felt like Noemi coddled him even though he was 17! He was not a child but acted like one a lot of the times and just in the end started growing more aware of the truth but didn't really buy it until it hit him in the face.
