Its content of antioxidants, such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and uric acid and its mineral content, such as copper, manganese, selenium, and zinc may also be responsible for the effects on blood lipids [ 19]. These elements may increase the catabolism of fats, leading to a decrease in serum lipid levels [ 19]. In addition, these antioxidants decrease oxidized LDL [ 13]. Among vitamins, honey contains niacin, which strongly inhibits lipolysis in adipose tissue, leading to a decrease in hepatic TG synthesis, and thus plasma TG levels [ 13]. TG synthesis is necessary for the synthesis of VLDL from which LDL in blood plasma is derived. It is therefore believed that niacin can also lower plasma LDL and total cholesterol levels [ 13]. On the other hand, insulin can stimulate protein lipase, increasing lipid metabolism, which results in a decrease in serum lipid levels [ 13, 74]. The increase in HDL associated with honey consumption may be due to the fact that HDLs obtain cholesterol from cell membranes and other lipoproteins, such as LDL and transport it to the liver. As honey consumption decreases LDL, less HDL would be used to transport cholesterol to the liver, which may increase serum HDL levels [ 13], although further studies are needed to confirm this mechanism. In addition, the niacin content of honey may be responsible for the increase in HDL levels [ 13]. Concerning phenolic compounds, the cardioprotective effect of flavonoids has been widely demonstrated through the reduction in blood platelet activity, the prevention of LDL oxidation, and the improvement of coronary vasodilation [ 7]. LifeMel is a food supplement from the beehive, made by bees fed on a specially formulated diet. LifeMel ingredients Jardine, Cassandra (13 April 2009). "Honey: the sweetest cure for hayfever". Life Mel honey is a remarkable creation. It is produced by bees that are nourished with a special mix that enables them to craft a unique honey infused with the beneficial properties of therapeutic herbs and natural ingredients. This honey is meticulously cultivated within a controlled environment, ensuring a pollution-free pollination process. I took Life Mel honey to raise the immune level + iron in the blood, following C.E.F chemotherapy treatment. Since taking the special honey, I have been showing increasing levels of white blood-cells and neutrophils. Before taking the honey, the value of white blood cells was 2000 and, after only one week, they had risen to 6200. The neutrophils had risen from 700 to 4200, and the hemoglobin also rose substantially from 11.2 to 12.7. I am extremely pleased with the special honey. -Odetta, Karkom Mixture of four types of clover honey obtained from Golden Heritage Foods, Smitty Bee Honey, Millers Honey Company, and Marshall’s Farm Natural Honey
Harnessing the Healing Powers of Honey
This strategy appeared to be relatively straightforward; however we soon discovered that bees are somewhat fussy by nature, and would not eat everything given to them. My research therefore focused around developing a precise blend of herbs with real healing properties that bees would also find appetising.
Life Mel should be kept at room temperature and stored in a dark place. If it crystalises, stand the jar in hot water for a few minutes until it achieves the normal consistency. How is it done?
The first clinical trial but be small but it is effectively a 'stage I' trial ALL drugs go through first. Its exactly how medicines from cancer drugs to aspirin started their life The scientists report that anaemia lessened in 64% of the patients - as measured by levels of haemoglobin in their blood - but with no controls to compare with they can't be sure whether this was simply due to the extra attention patients were given because they were participating in a trial. In other words a placebo effect. Life Mel was featured in CAM Lifestyle - "Research published in in Medical Oncology shows that LifeMel helps maintain a better white blood cell count during chemotherapy and can boost immunity before, during and after chemotherapy."
