Say hello to the hot chocolate bombe - a super-delicious chocolate ball filled with mini marshmallows. Place a hot choc bombe into a mug and pour over steaming milk for an explosion of fabulousness! Drinking chocolate doesn't get any easier or tastier than this. Hot chocolate bombes are available to buy in a variety of flavours and make great gifts any time of the year. They are super popular at Christmas and often sell out well in advance of the big day. The chocolate? Rich and velvety smooth. The texture? Creamy with a dash of froth on the top. And the marshmallows? While a little on the smaller side, it still offered a lot more than Asda's, so a definite plus. Let’s prepare the ganache: chop the chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl. In a saucepan, heat the cream until it comes to a simmer, then pour it over the chocolate. Cover the bowl with some cling film or foil and let it rest for 5 minutes without mixing. After the 5 minutes have passed, remove the film and whisk gently until all the chocolate has melted, then add the Baileys and combine. Set the ganache aside to rest until you are ready to use it.Once the Baileys hot chocolate bombs are ready, time to decorate: melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the top, then add the Christmas sprinkles and refrigerate again until solid. To temper the chocolate, you’ll need your trusty thermometer and a makeshift double-boiler. If you have a fancy double-boiler—great! If not, it’s super easy to make your own. Place the melting chocolate wafers in a heat-safe metal or glass bowl, or the top pan of a double boiler. Use a frying pan. Heat the frying pan and remove it from heat. Carefully melt the rim of the sphere and immediately attach it to one of the bottom halves.

A hot chocolate bomb is a hollow sphere, made of chocolate, filled with hot cocoa mix, marshmallows and other flavorings.
