I think if it was a little more slow burn I'd have given it four stars despite the loathsome secondary characters. There had been lots of coverage in the media about the dramatic increase in the number of people finding themselves without homes and I found it so sad. I’ll admit, I surrendered to this book and became its page mistress after reading the first couple of pages! Emily accidentally told her mother that she was married and now with Christmas approaching and her mother coming to stay she has to go and find herself a man!

Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). It was overall very entertaining, and I also liked the message: you can't let your past destroy your future.

It's just a few days until Christmas and to finally put a stop to her nagging mother's matchmaking plans, Emily has convinced her that she's already married! So many tough subjects are touched on in this fabulous book that managed to be both gritty and sweet. Emily's mum Pam plans to visit her daughter with her new husband len but when she finds out he has been sleeping with someone else she comes on here own. It’s a fun read on a chilly Sunday while you’re sitting in front of the fire, a mug of steaming cocoa by your side.

The line "If I marry you tomorrow will you take me straight to bed" suggests a sense of urgency and desire for an intense connection. You dont know how the book will actually end and whether theyl end up together it has you guessing right until the end. I liked the way Sam and Emily played off each other and I would have loved to see their interactions go on a lot longer than they did.It has fun festiveness and so much kindness that it really makes you think about what's important in life.

I’d been writing a short story about a homeless boy at the time, and the idea for Emily asking homeless Sam to pose as her husband while her mother visits stemmed from there. The final line, "blow one last little kiss for me," can be interpreted as a final twisted act or as a metaphorical gesture symbolizing the end of their relationship. As more of the story unfolded I kept giggling because as readers, we were aware of the secret and her mum wasn’t, so ‘watching’ Emily and her beau trying to match their stories was absolutely hilarious.
