Het verhaal begint eigenlijk meteen al met de mededeling dat er iets aan deze bosjes wordt gedaan en je leest dat Alex dit absoluut niet ziet zitten. I did suspect a couple of the twits however it didn't take anything away from my reading experience as the writing was so good and unfolded really well at an excellent pace. Such a vivid sense of place, a gripping plot, elegantly told, and a twist that left me reeling - brilliant! The story opens in the present day with Alex, who's really not thrilled to hear that his wife Beth announces the opening of a nature trail on a local disused site.
