About this deal

There’s an Abbey Road Half - Speed Master of the original LP, as well as a separate 7” fe aturing Cut Chemist’s classic remix of ‘The Number Song. In creating the album's overall atmosphere, he strived to capture the downbeat nature of his previous releases for the Mo' Wax label.

There’s a long sleeve tee, a heather green short-sleeved option, and a limited-edition gold colorway. The narration samples come from numerous sources and keep the listener involved and waiting for resolution. The way I describe this albums' soundscape would probably be akin to The Matrix if the sequels were actually on the same level as the original: hypnotising and fills you with a unique and unabashed feeling of ecstasy while paying many indebted homages. Through a combination of tireless record collecting and mastery of the sampler, DJ Shadow crafts cinematic grooves out of rock, jazz, soul, hip hop, electronica, archive interviews and anything else he can get his deeply refined hands on.

Shadow’s friends, Tom Shimura (Asia Born) blurry dude in a white wig and sweater, and right behind him Xavier Mosley (Chief Xcel).

What resonated about Endtroducing when it was released in 1996, and what makes it still resonate today, is the way in which it loosens itself from the mooring of the known and sails off into an uncharted territory that seems to exist both in and out of time. They both bear the black labels BUT the first one is definitely a digitally sourced record when the latter is the same pressing as the original from 1996. Condensed with urban oscillations and scatological beats, 1996's E ndtroducing shudders with eclectic samples and aural montages that reach beyond the constraints of hip-hop style. But I’m proud of these releases, and I’m hoping that perhaps they’ll bring some much - needed enjoyment to a small percentage of those who remember 1996 and an era of optimism that ‘Endtroducing’ helped soundtrack.was produced by Shadow in the span of two years using minimal amounts of equipment, most notably the Akai MPC60 sampler. Davis is not only a master sampler and turntablist supreme, he is also a serious archeologist with a world-thirsty passion for seeking out, uncovering and then ripping apart the discarded graces of some other generation, that pile of broken dreams, and sewing them back together into a tapestry of chronic bleakness and beauty.

Josh Davis, could be credited with bringing newfound introspection to the gloating sounds of hip-hop. Both the LP and the 7” have been remastered, for the fir st time, from the original studio tapes, revealing clarity unheard until now. I'm wondering if some folks here haven't mixed the Black to Black pressing from 2011 with the 2002 reissue. There’s been so much disruption to our daily li ves, not to mention means of income, that it feels almost inappropriate to promote myself and my music.
