About this deal

The story is really better suited to the overprotective parents than children, but both groups will get something out of this. She has won several awards, including the Children's Book Award, the Silver Smarties Prize and has also been shortlisted for the Whitbread Award. Due to his size his mother did not like him adventuring out in case he got hurt, until they came up with a plan and wrapped him all up with cotton wool, so not to get hurt. This book is perfect for a graduate and/or the protective parent such as myself, and was thinking to myself while reading that I could soooo relate to what was written about the mama mouse. When it comes to comparing him to his nine brothers and sisters, Colin is clearly the smallest mouse of them all.

Author Jeanne Willis has written over 80 children's books from picture books and stories for younger readers to teen novels. The fox might look a little too scary for a very young reader but adds the right amount of thrill for a 4year old! I do not find that it is something that a child could really get into, but I would still recommend to give as a gift to those who are getting ready to explore and/or for those who may fear the exploration that their child is preparing to endure.A great story about a little mouse named Colin, who compared to his brothers and sisters, was very small indeed. As a result, little Colin goes off all the time, and though bad things do sometimes happen, it's definitely worth it in the end. This is a story about a kid who ends the book by walking off into the sunset to find his own way, dangers all around.

Overprotect your offspring and watch them succumb to the evils of the world MUCH FASTER than if you'd merely let them take their lumps along the way. Definitely worth a peek if you want literary fare that's appropriate for the kiddies but not the usual rigmarole you encounter. By the time we finished laughing and gasping through Cottonwool Colin, the consensus was – this is a book for Moms! What I love about this book is that it sets up a pretty clear message without pandering to its audience. When grandma suggests they wrap him up in cotton before allowing him to venture out on his own, Colin goes along with it to get out of the stifling house. This book is about a little mouse name Colin and he was the smallest out of all his brothers and sisters and his mom wouldn't let him go out and play because she didn't want him to get hurt. Worried that he isn't as tough as the others, Colin's mother overprotects and babies the little mouse, preventing him from ever involving himself in what she might deem a "dangerous" situation. Afraid that her smallest child, Colin, will be hurt if he goes outside or plays, a mother mouse insists that he sit quietly indoors until his grandmother suggests wrapping him in cotton wool, which proves to be effective, but in a most unexpected way.
