It was great to see her grow more confident in herself as she settled into LA and made some great new friends. The only steamy scene took place toward the very end of the book and truthfully, you could blink and miss it. Bel is set on the fact that Ren is the love of her life, but there is one problem; she can't string a sentence together when talking to him. Out of the three books I've read from Kelk, this was the heaviest on the rom but the com was definitely the star of the show.

the little hints and nods to celebrities (i'm looking at you Harry Styles and the three name drops you had in this book) made it even more fun and i loved the illusions to old Hollywood. I wish we could have gotten more moments with her and Ren because from the little bit we got there was some good chemistry between them. The plot starts off with a crisis, a woman trying to discovering what she wants, getting involved with new people. I managed to read this book over two days, which as a mother of three, rarely happens but I just absolutely loved this story and wanted to spend as much time with the characters as possible. For those unfamiliar with Lindsey Kelk, she is from South Yorkshire, England originally, but now lives in Los Angeles after a number of years in New York.This was the first book I’ve read by this author but I’m now very excited to read more from her in the future. There are some references to emotional abuse in the novel which added depth to the characters and story without ever losing the romantic comedy focus of the novel. While there are a couple of cliches that may make some roll their eyes, pointing out their lack of believability, I think it also goes to serve the point that sometimes, life isn’t as complicated as we make it.
