About this deal

She is a warrior first and a queen second, she isn’t afraid to take action and ask for approval later.

However I must say this, the author toes the line of gratuitous smut overshadowing the plot, and she does it pretty well, remembering that she does actually have a story to tell and not getting completely carried away with the erotica bits of her novel (there would be nothing wrong with that per se, it just wouldn’t be my thing). I am looking forward to this book and love the cover, but it’s difficult not to see how similar it is to another popular fantasy series with vampires. This was such a fun ride and while I was able to predict the twist early on, it didn’t hinder my enjoyment. Applicability of cancellation rights: Legal rights of cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations available for UK or EU consumers do not apply to certain products and services. This is one of the most frustrating “tropes” (and I say trope because that’s literally what it is at this point) to read about. plot was directly taken from FBAA - actually shocked that this was allowed to go to print without a copyright violation. In fact she’s lived her whole life knowing one thing and suddenly she is told and shown things aren’t what they seem, while also having to deal with the pressure placed on her by those who also have the same misconceptions as her.

Towards the end, there were instances of certain magic being used that I didn’t really grasp but that seemed vital to understanding the instantaneous connection between Isolde and Adrian.

This didn’t totally bother me because things were continually revealed as the book went on, and I know any plot holes or threads left over will be dealt with in further books. Pero, joder, luego pienso en que quizás el siguiente sea igual de aburrido y que solo tenga un final explosivo y vuelvo a examinar si vale la pena… En fin. However, what I have come to find is that there’s a very thin line between being a powerful and fierce heroine and being aggressive and mean for no reason whatsoever. Because the whole thing made it sound like he was getting revenge against her people or something, but god this disappointed me so bad, it hurt.

There is stubbornness, there is doubt, and betrayal, but also some lovely comic relief and camaraderie, as well as several soft moments of feels.I understand that this book is now well beloved by many but you guys cannot tell me that this had a decent plot. But I’m getting carried away and this review is already way too long so the last thing I want to mention is the focus on consent. No, cause I get the hidden message forth; women empowerment, strength, knowledge versus ignorance, war, and sacrifice, yada yada. Clair created this level of a character that requires a certain counterpart, and vampire King Adrian totally met the necessary expectations. Outside of rereading my favorites (all of Sarah J Maas’ works) I haven’t picked up a new fantasy in…maybe two years?

The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. I admit it – ever since I read Dracula at the tender age of eight, I’ve had a thing for vampires and will read almost anything with them in it. As I said before, while frustratingly stubborn and slow in accepting that some things are not as she thought, or in accepting her feelings towards the vampire she is to made to marry to save her people, St. King of Battle and Blood nos cuenta la historia de Isolde, la heredera de un reino, que se ve obligada a casarse con el rey de los vampiros, Aleksandr. I very much expected the vampire porn this book has to deliver (why else do you think I'm reading this?

The writing was a bit choppy, there wasn’t a lot of character development, and there were a few issues with plot continuity. I really loved reading about the old gods, the contentious and twisted history with the witches and how vampires and other monsters came into existence. Second, the “boss fight” shall we say, my goodness, I didn’t think a MC could rid a villain within about two pages worth of a 368 page book.
