We were in Trafalgar Square recently and he was thrilled to see the lions on their plinths, just like the lion in the book, and he started talking about all the places the lion visits, so the book clearly caught his imagination.

In a PE lesson you could link it to the fire of London and do lots of movements that could represent a fire spreading.

Finally, for a literacy lesson you could make story boards of the events of the great fire of London.
