About this deal

If you like fast-paced card games, than Go Nuts for Donuts is the ideal game for your friends and family. Or maybe that succulent, rich, jam-filled balls of sugary supremacy are more your kind of delicious temptation? This is a brilliant example of a game where the choice of artwork really helps to elevate the game itself.

As long as you are ok with the threat of constantly getting no cards during rounds, Go Nuts for Donuts can be quite enjoyable. Important note: an action card’s ability is only ever triggered when you pick it up from the donut row. These have got to be some of the cutest looking cards and pieces that I’ve seen since Sushi Go Party.

Are they wanting that donut with the high point value or do they want to be able to draw another card from the deck giving them 2 cards this round. If it is picked from the discard pile, taken from another player etc then its ability does not trigger. Once all of the cards that were selected by players has been taken and any special powers resolved, the donut row is refilled. Some offer straight points, others award points on a sliding scale as you collect more of them, while others might actually be negative points, but give you a powerful one time ability. If you are playing it between big games with your gaming group, then there will be more interesting combos and tactics you can pull off with a bigger pool of actions available to you.Important note: an action card’s ability is only ever triggered when you pick it up from the donut row. The donut designs all have a silly and cute little face, much like the different types of sushi in Sushi Go. It’s a great way of introducing blind bidding/action selection concepts to novice gamers, or for killing time among experienced gamers.

At the beginning of each round, players will secretly choose which of the available cards they want by taking the selection card that matches the card’s number from their hand and placing it face down in front of them. Stars – A cute looking card game that’s very easy to get to the table even though it can be somewhat mean at times. The more players that play, the more interaction there is between players and the more chaos there is. Each player secretly bids on a donut card by choosing the number card that matches the donut they wish to bid on. The number of Donut cards played per game varies based on the number of players so a game is different each time.Sometimes you’ll pick the same card that another player chose which means that neither one of you get a card that time. During setup, a certain number of donut cards are dealt face up underneath numbered tiles into the donut row. With a player count up to six and the fact that young, inexperienced players can be competitive, it will be great for holiday gatherings. After all the donuts have been collected or discarded, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.

The game does scale well at all player counts and it goes up to six, making it good for larger groups. Predictably, whoever has the most points wins, if there is a tie, then whoever has the most cards of the tied players wins, if there is still a tie, then it is a joint victory. There you get a nice variety of cards to choose from, but you shouldn’t be constantly butting heads with other players. While this is a fast paced game, it does have a little bit of strategy to it, not that you’re going to be spending 10-15 minutes trying to decide what move you’re going to make, like in some of those strategy and war games.
