I have to say though that in these episodes, the cropping of the 4:3 image is a lot more obvious in certain scenes, with characters losing half of their heads on repeated occasions. To regain their freedom and continue on their mission, the gang must convince the kids of their innocence. And the video fills the entire HDTV screen (unlike the Kai releases which had black bars on the sides of the TV) without stretching the picture.

While Goku recovers from injuries suffered during battle with the Saiyans, his friends begin their perilous quest for the Namekian Dragon Balls. Disc 4 has those 9 profiles again, and trailers for Kimba the White Lion: Deluxe DVD Edition, and Panyo Panyo Digi Charat Volume 1.

Gohan suddenly senses an energy signal from the village that Vegeta destroyed earlier, and goes to check it out. Zarbon: Well, I didn't check his pulse, if that's what you mean, but I'm telling you it's highly unlikely he survived. The show’s written in a way to play that up, with plenty of throwaway jokes and one-liners that most of us probably won’t get.

Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan all sense that Frieza is on the move, but the Dragon Balls remain in their place. Michael Zupan is primarily a film guy, but has a variety of places where you can enjoy his work otherwise. Originally telecast in Japan on October 31 1990, "Enter Goku" made its American TV bow on May 23 1998; only one more episode remained in DragonBall Z's "Namek Saga. Granted, they needed to stay behind the manga, but at times the series is so painfully slow and uneventful that it's inexcusably unfunny.

After Goku revives Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta with Senzu beans and gets updated on the situation, he topples Recoome with a single blow, stunning Jeice and Burter; Dr.option, which has the Funimation dub, but also has the original Japanese music score to the episodes. Though he can barely move, Goku sees this as a new challenge, and begins to train under the intense gravity.
