In the early 2000s someone offered me a bottle of Deep Red because they didn't like it and it immediately became favourite. Someone else recommended it for the 20-30 age group and I don't necessarily disagree, but I'll be 40 this year and I have no qualms about wearing this one! It starts off with a fresh burst of orange citrus in the opening which only lasts a couple minutes before it settles into a gorgeous blackcurrant and vanilla combo with just a touch of ginger. Only reviews that feature the label "Verified Review" have been checked to ensure that the author actually used or purchased the product.

A fragrance like none other, Hugo Boss Deep Red is fruity-floral vintage at its best with an effortlessly modern twist. Today i dared to ask what she was wearing and she showed me the bottle and was nice enough to spray a bit on my arm (without me asking her to do it! I think this is suitable for all year round wear and would make anyone feel especially wonderful when wearing it.I'm a huge hater of ginger, but the way it's used here is impeccable, the only thing you get from that note is a warm air of spice that's bold enough to be present but soft enough to be comforting and not cloying. The only downside: the bottle looks virtually indistinguishable from the upside-down leg of a piece of mid-century furniture. After seeing the bottle and name I thought it would be darker and spicier so I felt a bit mislead at first but I absolutely love it for what it is. It starts with the blood orange, ginger and liqueur and dries down with a sweet ginger liqueur and floral scent with a distinctly unique sillage that definitely is only Hugo Deep Red.

I just wish it lasted longer and didn't go so fast to the base note, for finally to disappear on my skin after 3-4 hours. I don't enjoy ginger in perfumery at the best of times and this turned out to be a rather thin, uninspiring composition to my nose. I can see how someone who enjoys Hypnotic Poison, Alien, Dior Addict might appreciate this one, too - Deep Red's got that same kind of vibe. Once the initial freshness fades the fruitiness starts to come in, I definitely smell citrus and also the ginger. The juicy aroma of Blackcurrant, Mandarin, and Blood Orange is accompanied in the top notes by the sweet essence of Pear. After literally about 20 minutes, it dries down to quite a masculine (not a problem for me) skin scent (problem for me).

If you're looking for just one scent to use both day and night, I think this could be a good option and it's very affordable.How am I supposed to conquer the world, when I have to spend half my time respraying this weak dilution to try and get a hint of a sillage? I think this was my first foray into 'darker' scents, way back in 2006, but it was a rookie mistake. This popular women's perfume is luxury in a bottle – a ladies perfume that is sure to get you noticed.

This is the kind of going out scent I've been yearning for, where it's unique enough to be non generic but so well done that it feels so natural and inoffensive to anyone that smells you.It's really quite surprising not to see any comments mentioning the pear note in the composition, which I feel is quite prominent here. Unfortunately we are no longer able to send to France, Germany, Norway, Slovakia or Sweden due to customs regulations. Deep Red had both some of my spirit in it and so far, everyone's found it inoffensive or liked it very much on me.
