About this deal

The skywatcher I suggested has a parabolic mirror in astronomy terms the parabolic mirror is better, it gives a clearer, cleaner image that is easier to focus and takes magnification better it is also a lot more expensive to make. If memory serves me right (and at my age it probably doesn't) the 130EQ does have a parabolic mirror, as does the 76EQ. I've been thinking about getting a telescope for some time, and for my birthday my wife has decided to help me take the plunge by getting me one.

Rounding out what’s in the package is a copy of the Starry Night Level One software, which offers an impressive database of over 10,000 objects. Parabolic mirrors offer an ideal contour for use in Newtonians, and they eliminate image aberrations that are common with cheaper mirrors. Even though the mount can be upgraded, there are many preferable telescopes if astrophotography is your goal. The 130EQ provides bright, clear images of the Moon, planets, star clusters, and more for great nighttime viewing. POWERFUL REFLECTOR TELESCOPE: The Celestron AstroMaster 130EQ Newtonian telescope is a powerful and user-friendly reflector telescope.

All other products have a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, which covers repairs or replacement in cases of defective components. What can you see with the Celestron Astromaster 130EQ astronomy telescope, expect bright detailed images of our moon, see the moons of Jupiter plus the rings of Saturn and much more. When consulted, Celestron gives varying answers as to whether the AstroMaster 130 scopes are sold with spherical mirrors or not. I don't believe that you will manage to get exposure times longer than 20-30 seconds with this, it's too unstable and the tracking won't be good enough.

This innovative software solves the time-consuming problem of trying to pinpoint the North Celestial Pole. Motor Drive -Turn your manual German equatorial mount into a tracking mount by adding the included RA motor drive to your telescope.Spherical mirrors are more affordable, but they do suffer from chromatic aberration, especially in larger telescopes. rack-and-pinion focuser and includes two eyepieces for immediate exploration – a 10mm eyepiece providing 65x power and a 20mm eyepiece offering 32. However, you’ll need to switch the right ascension cable from one side of the mount to the other depending on where you’re looking in the sky. Following the six-month deferral period, Novuna Personal Finance will initiate a monthly direct debit payment for the remaining duration of the loan.

But in practice, you’re really limited to shots with a mobile phone or the like – and this is assuming the mirror is parabolic and not spherical, which is a real gamble. Though it is of average quality, this eyepiece provides a clear and sharp view of celestial objects, making it suitable for detailed astronomical observations. First off, it will take up the RA slow-mo handle position, which means you can't manually adjust the RA if you fit the motor (unless someone can set me right on that). The 130mm aperture of the AstroMaster 130EQ is a significant feature, providing substantial light-gathering capacity, which is crucial for reflector telescopes. Go behind the scenes with Celestron’s product development team and learn more about our award-winning and patented innovations. We mentioned it earlier and we’ll say it again here: the supplied 20mm eyepiece is so poor that you might as well throw it out.
