An original storyline which gripped me from the start,I loved every minute of it and it's one of those books that really gets you thinking. It did give individuals hope that life could get better and to keep reaching for their own happily ever after. Wonderfully written with the main character, Sarah, being both inspiring and frustrating in equal measure. When Sarah gets a second chance to relive a part of her life and avoid meeting her abuser, she finds that there is more to lose than just the abuse.There were many times when i thought i knew where the author was going with the story and each time i was taken by surprise. Despite all the anguish, heartbreaking moments, the book did focus on the love a mother had for her child. The donkey, who selects last, transports not king, soldier, or Samaritan, but a poor pregnant woman. But she also gains much in her alternate life - love, friendship, and an understanding of her own emotional state.
