Have you ever come across someone who always looks on the bright side of life, regardless of the hardships the one has to bear? The art is blocky and simple, with great use of repetition and subtle but powerful facial expressions . The book is written about a girl name Kate who moves to Grant College to persue her degree in education. Some of her favorite things: reading, writing, the two coolest guys on the planet (her husband and son), her bicycle, Facebook, iced coffee, and music.I can see Kate, Clayton, and Shelly dancing to this song, because I can’t sit still when I listen to it. I can’t really explain to you what this book is about because that would ruin the reading experience it’ll give you.

I fell in love with all of the characters really, but most of all between the relationship between two best friends who loved each other deeply… Kate and Gus. well that's Kate she takes life in her stride, she takes chances and she makes people smile she teaches the people around her how to LOVE freely. Not that I didn’t love how refreshing her character was but sometimes I felt like the author was laying it on too thick with all the sarcasm it became an overkill. Not only was Kate a wonderful character, but there were a slue of other amazing characters in this book.

After enduring hardships no one should have to face Katie’s optimistic outlook in life had her coined as Bright Side by her best friend Gus. Nothing less than an appreciative soul who most of us, myself included, could never imagine existed. I liked Kate’s outlook on life, but there were so many things that I didn’t love about the characters.
