I don't know what part of the body would shut down first but you would shut down - just like with hypoglycemia - and, fun fact, it's a lot harder to cure hyperglycemia than hypoglycemia.The idea that thin equals healthy, and that fat people are lazy and just need to stop eating so much and just try to be healthy were instilled in me so much while growing up that it's really hard to let go of them. I did like the visit to the Himalayas that framed the narrative, which was more about the process / history of yak butter than the author. No longer ostracised, Butter soon becomes part of the popular crowd - and life takes an unexpected turn for the better. In an ultimately strange direction, Erin Lange managed to take on a totally unique form of bullying – where the bullies appear to be your friends but encourage you and pressure you into doing what you don't essentially want to be doing.

This book shouldn’t be amusing – it’s about major bullying and suicide plans – but it is because of Butter who is such a sweet, if damaged, narrator, that you have to laugh with him (not at him, definitely with him). A somewhat interesting read, but it felt like a Wikipedia article, and she could have easily said all she had to say in an article instead of a book.I grew up eating margarine on toast but in the past decade, my family has switched to butter and I love it. But instead of answering the cry for help like kind, loving human beings, his high school cheers him on (is that really what brick-and-mortar public high school is like?
