About this deal

It starts with Christmas Eve, then Christmas Day, Boxing Day immediately after Christmas, the last day of the year, New Year's Day, and Epiphany Day, which closes the holiday season. Nah…I like other gourmand perfumes a lot better than this one (Vanilla Woods by the 7 Virtues to name one).

Casablanca opens with a soft, (not pointed) sour sweetness, which is why "apple" and "grape" are good associations. After a ton of contemplation, I’m so glad I finally bit the bullet and blind-bought this after hearing about all the hype. It's not horrifyingly sweet, thanks to the musks and the suede note that I can't pick out as such but is surely contributing to the softened effect. Successive sweeps in the heady incense amber and intoxicating leather, a magic carpet ride transporting you around the sights and smells of a bohemian Moroccan souk, the resinous richness is enveloping you in its wake. This fragrance full of contagious energy will become your inseparable companion, and not only during the summer.

Just received this, so I will have to wear it a little to have a full review but upon initial spray I did not get the instant caramel apple that's been talked about. Our fragrances are simply inspirations from, and are not ‘identical’ to any other fragrance or original. It felt like if you took a cheap heavy fruity cologne and then put a little caramel in, way WAY in the background.

Thankfully I have both so there is no need for my thinking about back-up bottles just yet😉 Yes, this is a beautiful fragrance - one that is perfectly unisex and sumptuously blended. The apple in Casablanca is crispy and juicy and covered in a caramel-vanilla sauce, that will make you sniffle with joy. Juicy, tart notes of mandarin and grapefruit would brighten the mix as the animalic notes of slinking evening creatures mix with floral richness. Casablanca is the same scent as Lattafa's Atyaf Gold (unfortunately not listed here on Fragrantica).

As you close your eyes, you take a deep breath and are immediately transported to the streets of Casablanca, where the warm breeze carries with it the sweet and exotic scent of Casablanca Lily by Byredo. I sniffed the atomiser and I was worried to spray it on in case it doesn't work with my skin chemistry. I totally blind bought this because of the reviews and because a lot of them said that it reminded them of La Belle (which I have and love). This perfume isn't dessert-like and I don't get creamsicle, I'd say it is woody gourmand with touches of musk. The fragrance opens with the intoxicating blend of gardenia and plum, reminiscent of the vibrant colours of the bustling city.

A rich, floral accord with cut green stems and Mandarin tea supported by Moroccan spices and a floral heart of orange blossom, lily, Muguet and jasmine on a substantial base of vanilla, patchouli and musk.I get the caramel and fruits behind that screechiness, and they are lovely, but not strong enough to compete. The dusty orris and the creamy sandalwood dictate the rules, whereas patchouli is tamed and barely detectable. Casablanca Lily extrait de parfum from Byredo is a super-concentrated concoction centred around lily, which envelops skin in an intense veil of evening-ready fragrance.
